i'm taking my kids on a 4 day cruise to freeport and nassau, we will have 1 day in each place, i've done some reading, and i'm looking for a nice beach, clean with ammenities like restrooms, maybe shopping nearby, jet ski rental, some reviews say beaches are clean, some say they are dirty, my kids are ages 21 to 11, which beach should we go to? i'm leaning toward paradise beach or lucaya....and whats the best most economical way to get there?
Hi - can't help with Freeport but the last 2 times in Nassau we've gotten a day pass to the Hilton - a little bit of beach, lunch, and a nice pool. We chose the Hilton because our daughter is young. An ideal place for older kids is the Sheraton on Cable Beach - bahamasforaday.com/Nassau_Sh... - nice pools, good strip of beach, water slides, water sports, etc. Enjoy!
the paradise island is the more popular but Lucaya is fantastic too in the north atlantic current waters off florida usa. Many years ago I used to scuba dive in both islands Providence (paradise beach) and Grand Bahama (lucaya beach).
if in Nassau the old British Colonial Hotel at the end of Bay street was a landmark. IN Lucaya you had the casino hotels.
BOth have the things you are looking. Better to look at destinations here and see tips by posters like us, then come backto the forum for updates on them.
hope it helps your planning
