I am interested in architectural tours in English. If there are no tours, does HCM have a district or neighborhoods with Nouveau Architecture?
Hi there, I am intending to travel in HCMC for 4 days around mid May. Will it be safe for a female to get around herself? (: I don't speak Vietnamese & is slightly concerned about that. If not, could you pls recommend how I could get a female guide w me for 3 days, or arranged day trips at hostels if possible? Thank you so much for your help!

Day 2 - Check out at Dragon Palace, start Mekong tour
Day 3 - Mekong Delta (am), HCMC (PM)
Day 4 - Mui Ne
Day 5 - Mui Ne (am), HCMC (pm)
You think it is possible? I really want to go to Mui Ne :)

Hi traveling to HCM mid September for 4 nights. Our family consists of 3 adults and 2 kids. Wanting to stay in district 1 in a hotel with pool. Happy with family room or 2 interconnecting however only wanting to pay up to $130 per night, have heard this is possible so any suggestions would be great. Also advice on shopping please. The girls love the LV etc rip offs and will be seeking tees, bags, clothing , shoes etc. Wondering what prices to pay and where best to shop for these. Also wanting tailor to have mens woolen dress pants made. Finally, what prices for meals etc should we expect to apy. Sorry for all the questions. We frequent Bali annually but first time to HCM.
Thank you for your reply in anticipation.
3 of us will be traveling to HCMC for 3 nights. First time travelers to Vietnam/HCMC. We aren't booking anything in advance as we figure the city tours will be easy to book when we get there. We are considering one day in HCMC and one day trip. Are there any extraordinary day trips out of HCMC worth doing? Our group likes to party but we also appreciate landmarks/sites/culture. Any help is appreciated. Thank you.
I am going with my Vietnamese wife to live there for a while... what shots should I have and what do I do if I get hurt or sick?
Has anyone tried joining pub crawl in HCMC if there is one? I'll be travelling alone this April and joining pub crawl would be awesome. :)

Hi there! I am going to HCMC on April 26 to May 2 alone and I need your help in deciding if I should book a tour or I'll just go around the place and commute by myself. I am also looking at booking an accommodation at Blue River Hotel and their site says that I can also book a tour with them. Do you think it's a good idea to book a tour at the hotel? Thank you guys sooooo much! Haydee
I'm going to Ho Chi Minh and will arrive past midnight on Feb 9, the eve of Tet. Here are my questions: 1. Will there still be taxi booths of Vinasun and Mai Linh inside the airport at that time? 2. If not, will there still be taxis outside the airport? 3. Will taxi fare increase because it's Tet? 4. Is it safe to take a taxi (Vinasun/Mai Linh) alone at that hour? Or is it better for me to stay at the airport and wait until 5am or 6am before I take a taxi to the hotel? My other option is to book a hotel taxi or an airport transfer service for my peace of mind. However, I just find the fee too high. It's 4 times more than what I would pay for a taxi (Tet surcharge). Thank you!
I'll be arriving in Ho Chi Minh on the eve of Tet on a midnight flight. Here are my questions: 1. Will there be Vinasun or Mai Linh taxi booths at the airport at 1 in the morning? 2. If I get a taxi outside the airport, will the fare be doubled because it's Tet? 3. Is it safe to ride a taxi alone at that hour? 4. Is sleeping in the airport recommended? Say I wait til 5am or 6am before I take a taxi to the hotel. Thank you very much!
Are the tunnels open every day and what are the opening hours?
Going this next Nov, wife and I, and wondering what part of the city would be good to stay in, as well as hotel recommendations. We are looking for an area that has local markets to visit, we love local markets, and inter-acting with the locals. Street stalls a big plus as well, and by the way, any poblems with street food here or anywhere in VN??? Thailand street food is great and NEVER had any issues with the street stalls there. Hotels, doesn't have to be expensive 125$ max but i am sure that there are comfortable hotels out there for less. Would like something with good brkfst, wifi and a fitness center Thanks everyone and Happy travels fo the New Year! David
Hi, I'd be travelling alone to HCM on April and I want to know the best and safest club/bar there. Any suggestion? Thank you so much! Haydee
My girlfriend and I are traveling to Vietnam from Jan 12-27 and plan to make a trip to the Mekong Delta near the tail end of our trip for about 2 days. We've been advised to look into riverboats with overnight accommodations since this is supposedly the best way to see the region but the ones I've researched seem pretty pricey ("Mekong Eyes" comes to mind). If we only have 2 days to see the area, what riverboat tours are advised?
Hi all, we were planning to fly to HCMC on Feb. 10, 2013 and stay there and in Vung Tau until the 15th or 16th. I've heard that many restaurants and shops will be closed during Tet but is it only for a couple of days or for the whole week? Will it be difficult to get a ticket to hydrofoil between those places? All in all what I'd like to know is that if it's worth travelling there during Tet or if we should pick another time? Thanks guys! :)

Hi , I will be in Ho Chi Minh @ 23 Dec 2012 around 13:10. I wanna rent a car from the airport to district 1 Pham Ngu Lao place. I have contacted a company, they give me quotation about 24USD per car one way including all tolls for a 5 seats card. We only have 2 persons. Any one kind advice if the price is reasonable? Any one will arrive there almost at the same time would like to share the car? ( I think 5 seats car can sit 4 persons.) My email: bigtoe_harbor@yahoo.com.sg Thanks
Hi do you know the name of this big restaurant which is in between ben thanh market and the reunification palace? It seems to be a former old building or a big house with two floors. it is a white building with plants or small trees.. and is an open-air type of resto. Food preparation sections are located on both sides. The beverage bar is located at the second floor. I want to google it to see some images but i cant seem to remember the name. Thank!!
