      Sapa Apr 8, 2015 at 7:17 PM

Id like some advice on what to pack for 3 days in sapa. I am going in July from Australia, and am doing a trek through the mountains.
Will it be cold at all at that time of year?
I would like to know if I need warm clothing or not.
      Cheers Melissa

    • Sapa Express bus

Lao Cai Apr 1, 2015 at 2:54 AM

I was hoping to catch the new Express bus as it passes by Lao Cai on the way from Sapa to Hanoi. Through email, the company has told me that they can pick me up at the highway round-about(!), but due to the language barrier, they have not been able to tell me if the bus automatically stops here. I am nervous that the bus will go flying past me and leave me stranded there for the night. I would appreciate it if someone who has taken this bus can assure me that they do indeed make an automatic stop at the Lao Cai round-about. Thanks in advance!

      Vietnam in 10 days

      Vietnam Apr 8, 2015 at 11:22 PM

We are going to Vietnam for 10 days from June 28 - July 8. We plan to visit the following places - Hanoi, Halong Bay, Nha Trang (or Hoi An) and Saigon. I need advise on the sequence of the destination point, Hanoi to Saigon or Saigon to Hanoi? Besides overnight in Halong Bay, how many nights should we spend in each place? Should we skip Nha Trang or Hoi An?

I greatly appreciate your input. Thank you so much!

    • Cat Ba in September - Any tips?

Cat Ba Aug 17, 2014 at 2:51 AM

Guys, a friend a I are planning to spend a week in Cat Ba the first week of September and from there explore Halong Bay and Lan Ha Bay. Do you think that a week is too much? Any recommendation on where to stay in Cat Ba? Ideally we would like to experience some nightlife as well (not clubs, but bars to know people).

      Any help?

    • left mobile telephone in Cat Ba

Cat Ba May 2, 2014 at 3:22 AM

We left our mobile telephone in the hotel in Cat Ba. The hotel (of which we don't know the name) was situated at the left end of the promenade almost opposite the bridge where the fishermen are (if you are with your back to the water). Next to it was a bigger hotel with balcony rooms. Our hotel had water views, but no balconys. The people did not speak English, they had a baby. Outside their place were a lot a big glass bottles with yellow liquid in, and some substance (dried food?or flowers? inside). There were a lot of these bottles outside. Our mobile Phone was a Polaroid one, the cable for uploading and little cotton bag was left there too. We are looking for someone who could go to this place and find out whether they have found it, and give them our email-address so that they can contact us (serenabeligum@hotmail.com) It would be nice if somebody could help us. Lots of thanks beforehand,
Jan and Lieve Van Coillie-Lams from Belgium
