Vacation Rentals in Phuket and Bangkok

by kandoi Online Now Jun 27, 2012 at 3:14 AM

Hi, I'll be traveling with my family to Thailand in December this year, and we are looking for Vacation Rentals (2/3 Bedroom Condo/Apartments) in Phuket and Bangkok. I've found some options on Tripadvisor but if anyone has stayed somewhere before or has any good suggestions, it would be really gr8. We'll be staying for 3 nights in Phuket and 2 nights in Bangkok. Thanks Siddhartha

In Phuket, we stayed at the Lae Lay Suites. They are located out of the high traffic area but close enough to walk to the beach (15 min.) or a tuk-tuk ride (5 min.). They are between Kata and Karon Beach. Staff are very helpful and the couple who owns the place will do anything to please you. We would definitely go back there if we would go back to Phuket. Enjoy Thailand!!

You should also include a price range and approximate area you need this condo/apartment at. Use a baht figure. One problem you have is that you want a condo or apartment for only a short amount of time. Since it is early now you won't have a problem getting a hotel. Hotels are easier to get. Some condos and apartments may be in areas not convenient to city activities. There are some serviced apartments that may fit the bill. Some serviced apartments act like hotels with daily rates. Here is a couple Bangkok serviced apartments. http://vresidence.com/index.php citadines.com/en/thailand/ba... Use this Thai Visa Phuket Forum for more apartment/condo advice from Phuket area. thaivisa.com/forum/forum/31-... December is the most expensive time of the year to visit Phuket. Phuket itself is the most expensive city in Thailand. Choosing a hotel for your very short visit is much easier to do and you have a greater choice of where that hotel is located. Good luck.

Thanks a lot for your suggestions guys. We are looking for a villa/condo near Patong Beach in Phuket and for Bangkok in the central area, or maybe near Sukhumvit. We haven't decide the budget yet but anything for 5000-10K Baht per night should be good (for a 3/4 bedroom Villa/Condo). Cheers, Sid

You should be able to find many resorts in that price range without a problem. Book early because that is high season for Thailand. Major chains are well appointed . In Phuket, I stayed all over along the beach areas Kata and karon beaches are more expensive but a lot cleaner with less tourist. In the north area they have Novotel on Patong beach about 100 usd per room , a great place and for a lower cost next door and family owned is SUNSET BEACH RESORT (www.sunsetphuket.com), both can be found on AGODA website to make reservations. and the prices will be posted. I know that SUNSET has a suite with a joining room. Good luck and cheers tommy x

Too often many of the questions about condos or apartments are something like "I want an apartment in the 500 baht range to 1000 baht range and I want to stuff 4 other guys in the same room! Can you help me?" With your budget you should be able to find a luxury 2 br suite in a good resort. Since money doesn't seem to be a problem then being in a remote area won't affect your budget much. I saw this place on another forum but have not seen this place myself. (I don't care for Phuket and have avoided this are for years.) rentals-phuket.com/rentals/3... Good luck.
