Hello, Does anyone know how I can get from Krabi Town to Bangkok, without taking any internal flights? How can I go about buying tickets for buses or trains? Thanks! Gwen
If you don't want to fly you can take a bus to Surat Thani and then either another bus or a train to Bangkok. Any travel agency in Krabi Town can help you with the details.

Hi - you should be able to get a direct bus to Bangkok - the LP guide I have suggests a 12 hour journey time. On most days you should be able to just turn up at the bus station and buy a ticket for the next bus... Cheers, Jeremy

There are quite some buses going from Krabi to Bangkok. As mentioned before the trip takes about 12hrs. Try to get on one of those VIP buses which only have 24 seats which gives enough space to stretch. You usually can book all the tickets through your hotel/guesthouse or right at the bus terminal.

If I were to take a bus to Surat Thani then transfer to train, is it recommended that i purchase tickets in advance before i arrive SUrat thani? how long does a bus ride from krabi to surat thani takes?

The bus to Surat Thani takes about 4 hours if I remember correctly. I'm pretty sure you can buy your train ticket in Krabi. Ask at a Krabi travel agency. Otherwise just wait until you get to the station.
