Hi friends, I wld appreciate it very much if anyone can share with me how can I book cafe lava hostel or lava view lodge. We wanted to stay nearest to the crater rim with budget price. Or are there any better one? Many thanks!!
Lave view lodge offers you good view of Mt. Bromo, but the facilities are standart. You can see Mt Bromo from the lodge. A few years ago I paid Rp. 150,000 per night to stay there, and I booked the lodge through a travel agent in Surabaya. There is another hotel where some people stay when visiting Mt. Bromo. the hotel is Grand Bromo Hotel. I never stay there, but its facility may be better than the lava view lodge. However, this hotel is a bit far (a few kilometers)from Mt. Bromo itself. You need to take a jeep to get to Mt. Bromo. If you go to Jakarta before visiting Bromo, you can check about the lodge/hotel in Bromo with the travel agent in Jakarta. Or, you can email the travel agents in Surabaya which I gave you.

I need your help.. I am travelling to Surabaya on 29/3 - 2/4. Planning to travel to Mt Bromo tour, and stayed at Lava View Lodge, but Lava Lodge said they they are fully booked on 29/3. I am not sure how to travel from Surabaya to MT Bromo, hence need transportation to and fro Surabaya hotel. Is there any way to travel to Mt Bromo? I saw the package to 3 days 2 night Mt Bromo is expensive. Est is 200USD. Do you have any agency to recommend?

Hi Eunice.. The package of USD200 is too expensive!!! We only spend about USD200-220 for the entire trip of 7 days from surabaya to bromo, to jogja, borobudur, prambanan and solo, but we did it by public transport. From the hotel, you can ask the staff to direct you to the bus station and you can take bus to bromo and then take a small bemo up to cemoro lawang.
