What is the road like up from the main road to telouet and beyond? Is it wide enough for an average motorhome and is it tarmacced? Also, is it safe to leave the road to park up overnight?

yes the road is motorhomable tarmac all the way to anmiter which is another 11km on from telouet which is 21km from the main road. it is piste from anmiter - weve done it in a car in a really 4 wheel drive road but no way is it motorhome past there.
it has a few narrow bits and corners but it is motorhomeable and its a well recommended place to visit. there is an excellent camping ground at tasgha auberge but the road at times is a bit rough and might be a bit dodgey in places for a motor home.
there is an auberge called lion dor that you could park your home next to, they do good meals and its the most stunning spot to sit and have breakfast. the carpet shop guys at maison nomade berber along the road to lion dor and the glaoui kasbah can help you out also with info and recommended places to go or stay with your motorhome dependent on the conditions at the time or guide you around some walks around the place. as there is a house in town that they have the connections with the french lady owner and the local family who manage it and they might be happy too to let you park up next to their place which would also be a good spot.
it really is a great place for staying for a while. its probably okay to park somewhere on the side of the road for the night but its best to speak to the locals. the road to tasga off the road from telouet to anmiter about 2-5 mins along there are some spots you might be able to but its probably best to park in approved places.
telouet auberge might come out with touts to try to get you to park at their place but one of the times i was staying in telouet which i often have for lengthy times a couple staying in an motorhome or motorhome van thing got charged some exorbitant amount just for parking on their grounds - and using their own motor home facilities!

but also do bear in mind taking opportunities to utilise services and outreaches by locals to use their services - it gives you some cultural interaction and brings some money into localities such as telouet that are fairly poor and reliant on tourist to bring some income in for them - rather than being totally independent in your motorhome!! telouet is an excellent place for coming out and meeting the locals!
