Hiya all, can anyone give me a rough idea how cheap/expensive Tel Aviv is for lunches and evening meals please. Agent is telling me cheap and plentiful restaurants but have also heard its expensive. Rough guide please and obviously any suggested venues will be useful. We are 4 ladies staying B/B for 1 week in June, so could we say get an evening meal for around £15? Many thanks in advance

Best clubs and beaches in Tel Aviv

by OperaDuck Online Now Oct 9, 2012 at 9:28 AM

Hi, I'll be visiting Israel in November, travelling round the country for a week, ending off with 4 free days in Tel Aviv in mid Nov. Just wondering what are the most awesome clubs in Tel Aviv right now (since the clubbing scene is pretty legendary....). Also which is the best beach to go to? I've read that Alma beach is a beach that locals go to (and to smoke shisha as well?) Appreciate any tips and advice. Thanks!

Swimming in the sea in May

by Oleinikolga Online Now Apr 16, 2012 at 2:10 AM

Hi, everyone. We are going to stay in Tel-Aviv for a week - between 30th of April and 6th of May and then head for a conference somewhere in the North of Israel. Being from a cold country, we wanted to have Sun and Sea vacation. Is it possible to go to the beach and swim in the sea in Tel-Aviv in the beginning of May, or our better option is going to Eilat instead?...

Advice on early check-in on the Shabbat

by marielexoteria Online Now Jan 8, 2012 at 4:44 AM

Hello fellow travelers, I will be in Israel in late July until early August and my flight is landing at 03:30 on the Shabbat night. I found a self-catering apartment place through booking.com close to the beach and with a reception, and I have contacted them when booking to notify them of my need of an early check-in. I have yet to receive an answer about this. So my question is: what are my options? I assume that taxi is the only way at this hour, Shabbat or not. I will need to get some sleep after waking up in the middle of the night and trying to be somewhat alert prior to the passport check. Also, what can I do to get some groceries, if the places in my immediate surroundings are closed? Thank you in advance, toda.

    • Day trip to Nazareth, Sea of Galilee

by suzyjj Online Now Oct 21, 2011 at 5:12 AM

Hi, I'm flying out to Tel Aviv next week for business trip but will have a day spare so would like to do a day trip to Nazareth etc. I've found various one's on offer and most seem to be around £50 which is fine but can anyone recommend a particular company to book this through? Part of my visit will include taking customers to Jerusalem + Caesarea so this seems the next best place to explore. Would be happy to go with a smaller group if it wasn't too cost prohibitive. Thanks Sue

by silkmatador Online Now Mar 17, 2011 at 9:24 AM

Anyone have any information about renting a bicycle in Tel Aviv for a Sunday, all day? How much it costs, what company rents them, etc? Also, anyone know how long it would take to walk from Independence park to Jaffa? I know it should be long, but I think it would be a great walk along the beachfront. In other words, on a Saturday, if I started walking at 5 p.m., what time would I get to Jaffa for dinner? And I'm a fast walker... Thanks, and open to suggestions about how to spend my first evening in Tel Aviv!

by Sarigatu Online Now Oct 28, 2010 at 5:37 PM

I will be arriving in Tel Aviv in a couple of days and I just found out that the person who was suppose to meet me at the airport has other plans so I have to arrive at the house by my own. I am arriving at 3.15 in the morning and I was wondering if there are busses at this hour? If there arent, what time do they start circulating and which is the bus that can take me to Holon (Vatikim)from the airport. I should arrive at Amal street or maybe Eilat street which I understood is near by. How much is the ticket and is it allowed to pay in other currency then shekel? If there is no bus that can take me to the destination, what other options do I have other than taxi? If I have to consider taking a taxi, which is a secure company that will not rip mi off and how much would it cost approximatly? I have many questions, and I need a fast answer just to get rid of the panic attack. Tanx in advance. Any info regarding any of the questions will be appreciated and helpful. Sara

    • Tel Aviv to Tiberias late at night

by kodoko00 Online Now Sep 23, 2010 at 6:11 PM

Hi, I'm traveling to Israel for the first time in October. I'm a bit worried about my flight arriving late at night and having to travel alone to join a group in Tiberias. Originally, I wanted to save some money by using public transportation, but had to scrap that out in favor of private transfers from BEN GURION Airport to Tiberias. Is74 per car per way overpriced or reasonable, given my circumstances? How long does it usually take to get out of the airport with Immigration and everything? I'm holding a Japanese passport. Any tips or advice would be much welcomed.

    • Question about Park HaYarkon in Tel Aviv

by Jericho-79 Online Now Sep 2, 2010 at 9:02 PM

Hi everyone! I recently looked up Park HaYarkon on Google Maps, and it seems that the park is divided into two sections. One appears to be a grassy area right beside a huge lake; the other appears to be a large open field near a water park. Here's my question- Where in Park HaYarkon do they usually hold large-scale concerts by international music stars? In other words- Where specifically in the park do they usually set up the stage for these big events? For example- Madonna had two concerts at Park HaYarkon last year. What part of the park did they set up the stage for her concerts? Are these big concerts staged beside the large lake, or beside the water park? Does anyone know for sure?

    • I am interested in travelling to Israel and The West Bank...

by Albz Online Now May 20, 2010 at 8:49 AM

I would be very grateful if you could provide me with the necessary information as I am thinking of visiting Israel, and a couple of cities in the West Bank in this year. I am a British citizen and was born in Pakistan and am a Muslim. I have been living in Japan for over 2 years now and am working as an English teacher. My purpose to visit Israel is tourism, learning about the Jewish culture and making pilgrimage to the Holy Sites. I am thinking of flying to Tel Aviv Ben Gurion Airport and am planning to visit Jerusalem (including the Eastern part), Bethlehem and Hebron (in the West Bank), Nazareth and Haifa (for tourism). I would like to know if it will be safe for me to travel to such places given the fact about my origin and religion. I am also concerned whether my arrival in Tel Aviv would be appropriate, or will I be required to arrive in Amman, Jordan and enter via the Allenby Bridge. Will it be safe for me to travel to the West Bank? I am also concerned about getting an Israeli stamp in my passport. I read that I could ask the immigration official to stamp a piece of paper that I could keep in my passport during my stay in Israel. I would be very grateful if you could provide me with the necessary information, and look forward to hearing from you soon. Thank you very much

Is there any baggage storage or left luggage service in Tel Aviv, that I could use for a few hours? It's a carry on bag with wheels. There's a service at the airport but I rather not use it as I'd have to go back there instead of moving on to my final destination. Thanks in advance.
