I'm currently in Kota Kinabalu, I came here for some island/beach action. Its raining and forecast to carry on for a while didnt check. I'm approaching the end of my trip and I just want to lounge around on beaches and party in the evenings. I've stayed in mostly Thailand and never touched the north like Cambodia.
I have to fly back on the 23rd of May at the latest, I have no flight booked, I ideally want to fly back to London from Bangkok or Singapore.
Where are the awesome beaches and good night life?

Buses from Tawau to KK cost about RM70plus but they leave only in the evening and takes 8 hrs. Any idea how much it would cost for a private taxi/bus/car for 3 people? Would it be faster also? I emailed some travel operators but no response from them. Any contacts?
Hi, I have a client who is looking for a characterful guesthouse style accommodation in Tawau & Semporna town. He is fairly old, does not use the internet and business style or luxury hotels. Hi all, still putting the finishing touches to our 2012 holidays in March. We are considering visiting the islands around Sipidan and staying on one of them for a couple of nights. We want to experience pristine white sand beaches, good snorkelling (no diving lthough we understand this area to be the finest in the worl, and good dining at the chosen resort. The Islands we are looking at are Mabul,,,Mataking,,,,,Kapalai,,,,and Pom Pom, Any comments on these islands or other suggestions will be greatly appreciated. Hi..I have a group of friends 5-6 persons planning to take taxi from tawau airport to semporna, if we reach tawau airport around 9.10pm, how much is the taxi charges to go to semporna? I heard that the charges is quite expensive..Any other transport to go semporna at night ?
I have a small group of 6 pax and intended to travel by road from Tawau to Sandakan and back from 11th to 16th April,2011. Should I joined a local travel agent tour or should I rent a van and head for Sandakan. As I have booked the Sabah Hotel of Sandakan.

I'm planning a dive trip from Tawau, possibly but not necessarily Sipadan. Net seems to be full of operators offering expensive package sin USD. How are the things in Tawau itself.. if I just get a flight there and start looking, what am I likely to find...? What other good stuff is there besides overprized Sipadan..? Cheers, Mike
I would like to fly from KK to Tawau and visit the cocoa plantation. Have any of you guys and gals got any information on how to get to the platation - how to arrange a tour or other tips? I will probably stay at Marco Paulo hotel over night (or two nights?) Many thanks in advance
