Travelling inside Uzbekistan

by fcbrussel Online Now Nov 10, 2003 at 6:21 AM

Hi all As my wife and me would like to visit Uzbekistan next year, I'm very curious about how to move inside the country. I would like to know more about prices of plane tickets. F.e. Tashkent-Samarkand-Bucharan. How much does this cost and what is the best way to order them? Can I do this in advance or do I have to do it in Tashkent airport? Does anybody know also if you can go from Berlin to Almaty?

By far and away the easiest way to travel from tashkent to samarkand and bukhara is by private taxi. you can take a fast new sedan for20 and it will take you no more than three hours from samarkand to tashkent. from samarkand to bukhara add an extra hour and myabe another ten dollars. they are very safe and reliable (i lived there for two years and took many many a taxi). if you still want to fly i would book everything in the airport as nothing you book from overseas can really be relied upon and you don't want to get stuck paying twice. good luck.
