I spent a delightful 3 days in Taormina last month and found a beautiful chandelier that I would like to order from a store located on Corso Umberto. I don’t have the name of the establishment and unfortunately, I’ve lost the business card and cannot contact the proprietor. we are planning to visit Taormina the end of jan for 4 day. We booked Villa Diodoro. We hope we made a good pick.
We are on a one week food and wine sailing tour around Italy and Croatia. 9-4 at Giardini Naxos on Day 3. Want to see Taormina and Castelmola. Need fast transportation. Can we expect taxis at the harbor? Or, should we book a guide/car? Happy to explore the cities on our own, just don't want to spend all the time getting there (or waiting for buses). Any suggestions would be appreciated.
In the beginning of October we will have to get from Taormina to Palermo airport by 3pm.
Can anyone suggest the best way to get there (convenient and not too expensive)? We are two couples. The possible options I see are:
- Taxi -might be too expensive (how much?)
- bus or train - no direct one, they might require more than two transfers
- rent a car - will need to rent with different drop off location, can I rent it in Taormina or I will need to travel to Catania airport to pick up the car on the day before departure, then park it somewhere in Taormina? And after all this hassle, how the roads are to Palermo. Is it reliable option to drive up there to get on time?
Thank you all in advance

Nearly three years, while on our honeymoon, my husband and I bought a beautiful table cloth from Sugar Spice, owned by Diane Lo Coco, but recently, it was badly damaged by candle flame on a windy night - outdoors, left unattended - never again! I would like to replace it but cannot find Sugar Spice and my emails to Diane Lo Coco are bouncing back.
Does anyone know if the shop still exists, and if so, how can I contact the owners?
I shopped in Teramina last month. I purchased a bracelet on the main thoroughfare about 3-4 blocks from the fountain that I believe is the main square. It was a beautiful green and orange snap on bracelet. I do not know the material or stone but it made a bit hit at the University of Miami in Miami Florida. And the President of the University would want to purchase one. The owner placed the bracelet in a green pouch that began with IL...(something) anyone know the jewelry and linen store that would carry the bracelet
