I am travelling to Takayama and am looking for a place to stay ( budget guest houses, Not hotels pl) in November of 2009 ( 4th, 5th, and 6th)

    Try Globalfreeloaders.com! They are random people offereing accommodation to willing travellers. I don't know if it's safe or not. Just check the testimonials on the page. I hope it helped.

    Google Rickshaw Inn. They have pretty good reviews and have rooms for less than Y$10000 (2 pax sharing)
