Weather in late September

Dear fellow VTers I'll be in Takayama/Kanazawa/Shirakawa between 20 Sep to 26 Sep. Check of the weather report history shows rainy weather. As we'll be driving from Takayama towards Gokayama, I notice some roads are closed in the event of heavy rain. Any advice on some good routes and whether the weather will clear up by then? Thanks in advance
