We (a couple) shall be visiting Taize in mid-June for a week, and are planning visiting various towns and villages from Lyon to Taize via L'arbres.e and Macon by trains. Does anyone know any interesting places to visit along this route? Any reliable and clean accommodation? Thanks!
Nearby Cluny is a very nice town with a train station. I like staying at the Hotel Bourgogne, http://www.hotel-cluny.com/ There is a bus going to Taizé from Cluny. I'm usually all in favour of taking trains and buses, but for Taizé a car would be better, especially if you plan staying outside.
