I would like to visit my parent's village (Shik Pam Hom) next year. The problem is, I have no clue where this is, where to stay, would I need a guide, where can I fine one, is it safe to wonder around town by myself. Any info anyone can give me would be greatly appreciated. Anything. Thanks!

I can't find any places that exactly correspond to the characters that you've given me, but I've found similar place names. Eg 东成 and 石笔谭. Those are to the east of Taishan, Dongcheng being a lot closer, Shibitan a lot further east.
