Will be visiting a friend who lives near Tacloban City. After information on local hotels & transport from Cebu City.
from cebu city , you can take an overnight ship to tacloban direct, but its a slow boat. Another alternative is to take a 2hr fast boat("Supercat") to ormoc city, then take the airconditioned buses from ormoc city to tacloban which is another 2.5 hrs. the bus station in ormoc i right on the peir terminal and I think you can buy a bus ticket from the supercat station in cebu or in the boat itself.

bongski is right.. you can buy your tickets from ormoc to tacloban, right on the pier or terminal of romoc. the overnight boat is slow and it does not travel daily. the Supercat travels daily and there are three trip everyday pying the ormoc cebu route.

with regards to your transportation,it all depends where you are going in tacloban and your comfortability. you have a lot of option on how to get to your destination and to get around the city.where are you headed?
