I'm going to visit Szczecin for a couple of days during the Tall Ships' Races in August. Can anyone recommend me any good and not too expensive hotel? Maybe any tips about good restaurants? Or what else to see and do in Szczecin? Are there any other VT-ers also coming to Szczecin for this festival?

Hi, apart from Waly Chrobrego and Lasztownia, where the Tall Ships' Races final stage is going to take place, you should see the castle, Orla Bialego Square with Baroque fountain of an eagle, Gothic Archcathedral of St. James, Tobrucki Square, Jasne Blonia (huge green area in the back of the City Hall), Jan Kasprowicz Park and Rose Garden. Also, why not to wander around the quiet streets of Pogodno district...? If I were you I would book ANY hotel few weeks ago. Szczecin is not very touristy city so the number of Hotels is limited. There will be so many people visiting that I don't think "not too expensive hotel" will be easy to find. If you are really coming, just try to book via internet anything you can find.
