I am visiting Syros this summer with my son and daughter (both adults). We will be based on Syros (my son is performing in the Festival of the Aegean) but will take ferries to Mykonos and Tinos or Paros (day trips). Is there an easy way of getting around the islands if we want to visit beaches or get out of the city? Are there scooters or bicycles for rent? Thanks

i will be going to Syros for about 20 days in a couple of weeks and would be most interested to be able to see something at the Apollo Theatre. I did not find any events on the website and wonder if the theatre is only open during the summer. If there is any event on, I would be most interested in receiving it and some information as to how to book tickets on-line if possible. Hi guys I will be staying in Galissas in August with my wife and two daughters. I was wondering if anybody knew of good cheap and clean accommodation in the general area. Any info about the island would be welcomed. I'm a bit worried about keeping two young teenagers happy on holiday. Thanks

I will be arriving in Syros @ 3 pm on June 13. I leave Syros @ 10:30 pm that same day. I was hoping to wander through the city that day, maybe hit the beach and such but would like the opportunity to leave my luggage somewhere. Is this possible? I would really prefer not to take my luggage around... please help!

I am hoping to holiday on Syros next year, and have been looking at the available accomodation in Kini. The place looks lovely, and not too far to the nudist beach at Delphini, but not many apartments. I had looked at the Captains Place, but having read a post here which derided it, I have been put off. Can anyone recommend a good place for my friend and myself. We need a 2 bedroom apartment (we're friends, not lovers), and want it to be clean and well maintained. Any suggestions???

hello from texas!! I'm a first time poster and I am going to Syros for the very first time. I was hoping you could tell me if Sea Colours Hotel is a good place to stay or not? Myself and my girlfriend want to stay in a clean,safe, and nice place while visiting the island. We also however do not want to spend too much money each night. Lastly, we want to be sure that the place that we decide to stay at is close or in the place where there is nightlife,restaurants,shopping and other things to do. In other words, we don't want to be secluded. We received an offer from Sea Colours Hotel to stay for 50 euros a night. Is this a good offer? What does that translate to in US dollars? We are traveling next June with a few families - all with kids who love to swim. We are planning on spending some nights in Ermoupolis. Although we will take day trips out to the beaches is there any swimmable water in the capital? thanks

I am planning a family holiday in Syros next summer and will probably stay in Kini. I like the look of The Captain's Hotel. Has anyone stayed there, or does anyone have any other recommendations. Thankyou Ellen

Do you know about this place?? The monstruous place used even during the antiquity as exile place. As well in the recent history of Greece. Where they builded a special prison, for the politically thinking the different way, than the governments of theat time. Have any more information or web sites in mind??
