Hi, I am exploring the possibility of travelling by shuttle bus from the international airport to Sydney City and back. I read the advice that it is a MUST to prebook shuttle bus tickets online. Is this correct? I saw an offer for $14 return. What is the usual price? TQ.
Hello, what is the best prepaid phone card to buy for use in Sydney & its surrounding areas? What is lowest denomination available for sale? Can I buy it at the international airport? TQ.
We have a change of plans because thanks to helpful VTs members, we found out the Blue Mountains is still good to visit despite the forest fire. We am thinking of going directly there from the airport. The cost of a regular return train ticket from the International Airport to Katoomba is $41.40 including airport access fee. I believe it should be more economical for us then, to buy a MyMulti 3 weekly pass that costs $61 + $12.30 (single Gatepass) =$73.30 per person & use it for the journey to & from the Blue Mountains as well as in Sydney for a week. MyMulti 3 pass would be very useful for moving around Sydney, wouldn't it?
Hi, thanks to all who have offered me tips to my earlier question. Unfortunately, I have booked lodgings in Sydney for my whole trip. Not sure if I can cancel it for an overnight stay in Blue Mountains since I will be in Sydney 8 days from now. So I am thinking of a one-day trip. Please suggest an itinerary if I go via (a) train (b) self-drive. In case I can cancel, please suggest a 2-day itinerary too.TQ!
Is it still worthwhile to visit the Blue Mountains after the devastation recently? Tours to this place is expensive so I would like to have accurate information about this. Thank you.
I wish to by a store gift voucher as a gift for a young Sydney teenager, any suggestion would be very welcome.
i have to reach terminal 2 at 5.45 am from city center. what is my best option?
Hello, I am visiting Sydney in November and I am looking for some rock music places, pubs, bars, clubs in Sydney.
Hi, How are you ?, I was looking which country I can travel on December. And I prefer travel to Australia, specificly to Sydney, because I want to know The Opera,Oh, and the beach in that place. I like two Hotels : Park Hyatt and Quay Grand Sydney Harbour. Which can I choose? . Thanks for your help.
I will be in Sydney for a week. I have a second week where I want to travel internationally to another country. Right now the plan is New Zealand but I am looking for somewhere else relatively cheap I can go in place of New Zealand.
Hi fellow VTs,
I read about the forest fire in Sydney, & that blue mountain is the most seriously affected.
Does anyone know how is the situation over there now?
I am planning on going travelling to sydney australia at the end of January next year, Just wondering if anyone knows whether i Have to have a job and accommodation lined up before i go or whether i can just come out there and look for accommodation and a job when I am there. I will obviously have some money for my stay while waiting for a job. But i do know that the australian airports are very strict on letting travellers in if anyone could help me out that would be great! I am all new to this! Thanks :)
Where is the best place in sydney or just outside of syndey to be guaranteed to pick up a job fast for december-febuary (anything)
Thinking of including a day trip to Manly, where can I find the ferry schedules and can someone suggest what to see / do? Keen for walks (easy to medium difficulty) - please suggest sequence of places to see.
I have read about the public transport on the website and wanted to confirm a few things on the Multi 3
- does this includes train to Katoomba,
- and it includes ferries to Manly, Watsons Bay and Taronga zoo? Do I have to depart from Circular Quay and are there any ferries between Watsons Bay and Taronga Zoo?
- do i need a separate ticket for international airport?
- arriving from international airport, where should I buy the Multi 3?
G'day! I have some questions on the Eco Hopper - wanted to visit Taronga Zoo and Watson Bay from earlier research via this forum. Was recommended the Combo ticket for 24hours Eco Hopper and Taronga Zoo
1. Slightly confused on departure point labelled Darling Harbour - there are two points marked as #1 ie Pyrmont Bay and Sealife Acquarium. Which one is actually the starting point??? I am staying near Pyrmont and would like to catch the earliest ride to Taronga Zoo.
2. Does the hop on hop off goes through the entire sequence 1-7? Which means it is best I visit Taronga Zoo, then Watson Bay? Are both doable within the same day?
3. If I use the first ride at 905 AM does that mean my last ride to get onboard is 9AM the next day, regardless I get off at 10AM? (Example only) The following day I might take the morning ferry to Manly, then buy one way ticket back from Manly to Darling Harbour, any word of advise?
4. Are the ferries generally punctual? How far ahead do they start boarding passengers before departure time?
Any useful tips much appreciated! :)
we are aged pensioners and note a 15%discount . wondering if executive floor is worth th money
Removalists - who are best in sydney?
I am turning 13 in 2015, which is when I'm moving to Sydney. 13 years old is most probably the worst time to move to a new country, because it is the starting of middle school. I come from a small country in Asia, and now, I'll be moving to Sydney, Australia, which is located in Oceania, not in Asia. Will people there judge me for being Asian, or will I fit in with the Australians there? Because I've heard from some of my friends who have moved to Perth that some racist students in Sydney might judge me for my nationality and race (I'm Chinese). So now I'm worried that I might get teased and not have any friends at all despite being one of the well-known in my form when I was living in Malaysia.
What are the most important things that I need for being in Sydney on December?
How is the weather of Sydney in December?
Hi. I want to know about hotels. Where can I find a good, nice and cheap hotel?
How much cost 3 days and 2 nights?
Hi. I'm planning to travel to Sydney soon, so I want to know what are the most important places for visiting in 3 days.
Hi. I'm planning to travel to Sydney and I want to know: what are the most important places for visiting over there? How many places can I visit in a whole day?
I would like to do a day trip to Watsons Bay (the gap) as advised by VT'ers in my earlier questions. Can someone give me some guides / links as a starting point for my planning:
- Plan to do this on a weekday (late October) - unless there are advise it is better to go on weekends?
- From CBD, where do I need to go catch ferry? Public transport timings and links would be helpful
- What is the best sequence I should do this (to cover Watsons Bay and Manly) and do not miss the main sights?
THANKS YOU! =)
Is the Rock Markets only on Sundays?
Hi - my second time in Sydney after 1 year, would like suggestion on what to do. During my first visit I did these: walks around The Rock, Darling Harbour, cruise to see Opera House, walk from Bondi to Coogee (happen to see Scuptures by the Sea) and an overnight trip in Katoomba to see 3 Sisters. I am keen to do the walk from Bondi to Coogee again (and see Sculptures by the Sea again!), day trip to Manly, contemplating another trip to Katoomba (or let me know any other interesting options for day trip out of the city please).
Looking for more suggestions so I can plan out my itenary ahead - my interest is more on sightseeing, photography, experience new culture and would like to try local food / local activities. =) Not much interest on shopping, but would like to see markets - I do have a Saturday late morning and whole of Sunday - so let me know what markets to check out.
Dear fellow VTs,
Does anyone know of good & cheap service aparments to recommend in Sydney?
We are a family of 5 adults & 2 kids (7 pax) and we are driving.
I found an apartment in Kogarah, which I think is in outskirts of Sydney.
I don't know whether to stay there. I was thinking that if we drive into Sydney, is it very expensive to park in cty centre?
I actually don't want to rent a car in sydney but because the aipport shuttle from Sydney centre to airport is quite x, it may be more worthwhile to rent a car.
I will be driving to other parts of Australia before that.
we are booked on a short cruise to support diabites in January and we are flying up from Melbourne.
The departures are now from White Bay and we have no idea where that is and would value advise re getting there from the airport.
We love Sydney and think a few days before the cruise at a pub might be good but again no idea wher to look for a reasonable pub near the ship and near the city so ask your advise.
appreciate any information that you can give us
