The Snowy Mountains (i.e. Thredbo, Perisher Blue, etc.) is the best place if you're here in Winter. One way is to make your way to Canberra, and from Canberra, there are coaches/buses that will take you to the Snowy Mountains for a day trip (or you can just be dropped off/picked up, if you plan to stay overnight or awhile). These are some of the major companies that run from Canberra: - Murrays: http://www.murrays.com.au/ - Greyhound: http://www.greyhound.com.au/ - Transborder: http://www.transborder.com.au/ As the snow season hasn't started, not many have released details yet, so, you'll need to look back later.

Yeah it's about a 4-5hr drive to the snowfields from Bowral.

Snow season officially starts Queens Birthday Weekend (first or second w/end in June) and goes through to end of August. Snow can oftern be seen until November on higher peaks and has already started here in Victoria, but only a light 'dusting'

Agree with all the above - best place would probably be the snowfields - Perisher / Thredbo. Sometimes you get a dusting of snow around the hills of Canberra only about 1 1/2 from Bowral. About three years agoo we actually had a light dusting at Robertson which is only 1/2 hr fom Bowral - although this is really rare.
