Sydney Apr 24 to 1st May

by morpheus79 Online Now Mar 9, 2012 at 3:47 PM

Hi, I have planned a trip to sydney from Apr 24, with the intention of visiting blue mountain, port stephen as well as covering a day tour in the metro city. Given the recent weather phenomenom and torrential rain flood, is it advisable to stay put with the travel plans or postpone to a later time around June since the weatherman reported that rainy weather will persist till end april?

If it's still raining in the same way in Sydney by late April, the locals will be floating around the harbour in the arks they're busy googling the plans for right now.

LOL Leyle Thank heavens we live on the 6th Floor! I have my ark booked just in case though. To the OP: Impossible to predict weather so far ahead. I would stick with your travel plan if I were you.

I was thinking likewise... :p My 8 month nephew is the only concern I have. I would be slaughtered at the door before my sister pushes the stroller along the wet floor. I am not that concern in the CBD, but is it common to have floods along the journey to blue moutain and port stephen?

Very rarely would it flood on the way to the Blue Mountains - if anything, you are more likey to get storms with wind damage - but this is quite rare. Weather is impossible to predict at the moment - it is crazy - I would stick to your original plans. Port Stephens is beautiful at that time of year.

It is annoying how something like rain can make you have doubts about your travel plans! >:( I've been there! But it should be fine really, and Port Stephens is indeed wonderful :)
