Can't say I've ever heard of one in the CBD area...

Bungalow 8 does all you can eat mussels and chips on Tuesday nights for22 - great deal!

i like the seafood buffet at the four points by sheraton in darling harbour on sussex street. there is a wide variety of seafood-oysters, prawns, mussels, smoked salmon, octopus salad, marinated squid, sushi and sashimi, many types of salads, 5 hot dishes(fish/beef/chicken/vegetables/pork), soup, desserts etc etc.

Sheraton on the Park also does what sounds like a similar buffet to the one June mentions - Monday-Thursday evening. Not cheap - A$60 per person - but truly spectacular.

I believe the Carlton Crest Hotel also does a buffet at it's Baraza Restaurant, but never tried it and some of the other up market hotels also offer the all you can eat, but at a price...

I used to hear ravings about the all you can eat at the casino at Darling Harbour - never got there myself as i ended up in the UK and still waylaid and now probably out of touch!

Otherwise not quite buffet but similar is having Yumcha at any of the good chinese restaurants in China town - usually until about 330pm - they wheel trollies around for you to choose/take small dishes of their many selections, including dessert dishes, and then you pay at the end - its almost like a buffet - eat heaps for about20 per person.
