CHEAP hostels in North Ryde or Lane Cove area

Hi, I am looking for cheap hostels or hotels near Macquarie University, in the North Ryde or Lane Cove areas. Most hostels appear to be in Sydney Central, and the ones that I have found on the net in North Ryde are ridiculously beyond budget. I've tried the uni halls, but there is no availability. Can anyone help? Cheers guys.
