I am going to Sweden in July this year and unfortunately don't have time to walk the whole Kungsleden walk. It sounds an amazing area though so would like to go there for at least 2 or 3 days. Are there any day walks in the park that give a good idea of the character/flora/fauna that make a long train trip from Stockholm worthwhile?
Dear all who live in Södermalm! I'm trying to find one interior/home stuff shop which locates in Folkungagatan (as I remember after my last visit of Stockholm last year). It occupies a corner of the building and the right side of the street if you go from Götgatan. They sell a lot of things (pots, lamps, glass heads and etc).
What's the name of the shop?

My question is about problems which might Arab tourist face in Sweden. since
Unfortunately, I read in some of the Tourism Forums that in some cities, such as Malmo and Stockholm Sweden, there are some Arab immigrants or dark-skinned who they cause problems, So they are hated by the local population.
For the same reason two years ago, I faced problems of racism in Germany when I went there for Tourism and some have thought that I'm from the Kurdish population, who live in Berlin and have a bad reputation.
So, is there big cities in sweden that have a small percentage of immigrants and racism are nonexistent and where residents are friendly and like to socialize with the tourists?
Please recommend cruise. Open to lunch/brunch or day cruise. Possibly Drottningholm Palace?

During our trip (JUne) to Sweden we intend to stay a couple of nights outside Stockholm (Hägersten) for visiting the city itself by train/metro. The nearest station to our hotel would be Västertorp. Is this area safe to walk back early evening to our hotel, which will take about 10 minutes ??

Wondering how I would travel on public transport from Marstrand to Trollhattan on a Sunday in early June.
I have to arrive by late afternoon. Appreciate any tips.
I note that there is a reduced fare for those aged 65+ on public transit, I am looking at the 72 hour card. Do visitors also receive this reduced fare or must one reside in the city of Stockholm or country of Sweden to be eligible?

I will be in Malmo for a few days. My grandmother and grandfather were from Sweden. All I can remember growing up were the great Swedish foods that my grandmother would have for us. I have been to Sweden in the past, but that was years ago. I am now in my 70's and will be returning for probably my last visit. I would really enjoy some delicious Swedish meals. Not pretentious, not upscale, but just some good food. I know that I could ask at the hotel, and would probably be sent to some restaurant which provides an incentive for the hotel to suggest that particular place, and that is not the place I want to eat in. So would appreciate some suggestions on where to eat.
I'm just about to book the Stockholm to Tallin ferry and was wondering if anyone has done this before and has any advice as to which cabin is better as well as suggestions for whether to pre book food etc? I will be travelling alone and can't decide between an inside (EUR180) or outside (EUR230) cabin. Is an outside worth the extra cash? Never been on one of these ships so I have no idea!
Many thanks, Natalie
I am just back from Tromsø, which was amasing with its scenery and polar landscapes. Unfortunately, didn't see the Northern lights but that's another occassion to go up in the far north.
I was thinking of Umeå this time, going in March. Do you think its a good period or it might be a bit late then. How is it in terms of weather. To see the lights you need clear sky and low temperatures, so how is Umeå in this regard? Please recommend any easily accessible point to Umeå and feel free to share your experience there - local people's advice is most welcome.
