I arrive in stockholm on the 5th of July 2013 and I can't find out how one can get to äsköping from stockholm.
Nowhere has äsköping as a destination option. Is there and public transport to this town? How can I get there?
Are there any art galleries in Karlstad?
Hello everyone!
Me and my girlfriend are visiting Stockholm in late August for 7 days, for holidays.
I have a couple of questions regarding the city's safety and I would be really grateful if you could help me out :
a) How safe is the Stockholm T-Bana (Stockholm Metro) ? Is it safe even at night, e.g. 11.00 pm ?
b) Are there any areas in Stockholm that we should avoid, when we look for a place to stay?
c) What do you think of the Riksby district? From what I've seen it's a bit far from the city center, but we have found a rather cheap apartment for rent there, close to a Metro station - but I don't know much about that district, so I could really use any info regarding its safety of if its distance from the center wouldn't be much of a hassle to us.
I would really like to thank you in advance for your assistance!

What is the distance from and transportation possibilities from Freeport (port) to downtown Stockholm?
How to we get to Smålansstenar from Copenhagen by train?
Is it true that one better had a repellent going on an archipelago cruise, or any cruise at all?
PS
Don't see much activity about my questions; or are they too difficult :) ?
I need somewhere, not too far from the station (2km, preferably walking distance).
I had located Weiner Konditoriet but I am concerned that with their remodelling to Weiner Cafeet that they are dropping stuff like massive seafood sandwhich-cum-gateaux creations.
I have mailed them but no response. Does anyone know if
a) Weiner are just having makeover, the stuff is the same and I will be able to call them a few days before and order 3 or 4 of these
b) somewhere else. We get in at 06:30 and leave 08:21
Tak
Hi!
I have an SL Access Card from my previous Stockholm visit – a pretty old one, from January 2011.
How do I arrange sort of Pay-as-you-go? I do not know when I will need to take a bus, but having to run and find a ticket booth somewhere doesn’t look very encouraging.
Is there any wiser way?
Thanks in advance!
Hi,
Does it make sense to make a day trip to Fjäderholmarna?
It's stromma.se/en/Skargard/Strom...
They say there is a beach - anyone been there? What else is there to see? I mean, I read the discription - but has anyone been there and can say that's really worth it?
Or is is better to take their archipelago cruise?
stromma.se/en/Skargard/Strom...
Has anyone taken lunch / brunch cruises?
I am planning some sort of a cruise, - don't know which - maybe two, it's good to spare yur feet
for 5 persons. ANY THING, anywhere around västerås... for 4th to 7th of July.(yes powermeet time)...
We dont need so many stars, just a shower near the room
When in Stockholm, what is the cheapest food to be found? I am a student, visiting for 8 days and I don't have a lot of dough to drop on meals!
Hi, what's going on in normally quiet Stockholm?
Which areas should one avoid? Any transport disturbances? Other sensible advice?
I was going to try swiming in skärgården - any problem with it?
Hej,
I want to know the name of types of hotels. for example the hotels with cozy, old and countryside style name?
Hi, may I get the bus route no.538 from Marsta Station to Arland Airport ? Is easy to find the bus stop?
Need advice on easy-going sightseeing June 16 – 23 – that is, without much going actually :), have a bit of a problem walking long distances.
Staying in Regeringsgatan, close to Hötorget. I normally take SL access card for the whole period, it covers most transport means.
So far, I am planning
• Drottningholm by boat (at least one way, does it make sense to return by bus+train ?)
• Tram 7 to Skansen the day before Midsommar
• Cruise to Haga (it’s the shortest cruise), maybe an archipelago cruise with lunch another day?
• How do I get to a public beach, if there is any?
I got this as nearest – is it really fit for swimming? Any place to change, WC etc?

Is it already warm enough to bathe? Surely some compatriots are famous for walrus-bathing, but I do not go to such extremes :)
Looked up Drottningholm Palace and found out this:
Closed 4–11 June, due to the Royal wedding.
Take a note if you are heading there
By the way, since I am planning a trip later in June, has anyone tried the boat + entrance fare?

Then, I didn't really get what they mean by "Departs from: Stadshusbron"?
Does one exactly jump the bridge?!

Hi, can anyone tell me from Central Station if I do not take the Arlanda Express, taxi, and Flybussarana? Have any other transport....to Arlanda Airport..?
hi,
i'm going to go to Vimmerby this summer. Last time I was there, there was a train route via Lingkoping (and , as I checked, there is such possibility now). But , as I checked connections in the Net, there is no such possibility in August. Does anyone there know whether there will be some changes in train routes or it is just problem with booking system ? Many thanx in advance

I have 1 day free in Stockholm any suggestions as what is a must see
Me and my girlfriend are flying to Stockholm, stay there for 2 nights and than go traveling to visit familiy nearby Malmo. We have 4 days to get there. What route would you recommend? What places should we visit/spend some time? And by what means of transportation?
We were thinking maybe to go via Linkoping, is this a good idea? Is public transport a good way to get around or do you recommend renting a car for the trip?
Hi,
We would like to hike the kings trail. THe only problem is that we are short in time an we have only 5 or 6 days, wich will not allow us to go from abisko to nikkaluokta, then take bus from nikkaluokta to kiruna, and another bus back to abisko (where our car might be standing).
Has anyone an idea what the best possibility is to get back in Abisko in a 5 or 6 days time span?
Walking in a circle or taking a bus/taxi somewhere (and where?:))?
Thank you really much!
Maarten
Hi

I am visiting Stockholm in May and would like to visit Ice Bar, have I read correctly, is that the month they rebuild bar?
My daughter is moving to Lund to work in a Montessori school there. I'll be flying over with her and staying for a month. Has anyone any suggestions on the most affordable place for the two of us to stay? We'd prefer some place in Lund, because we'd really like to walk everywhere. But if that's cost prohibitive, I'd of course appreciate any suggestions.
Traveling by car around Sweden. We will take 2 days to go from the island of Oland to Copenhagen.
Right now, i am considering going via Växjö, Simrishamn, Ystad, Lund and Malmö, some of which we would stop to see for an hour or 2, some which we would just drive through.
Give 2 days, what would be a recommended route, what are the recommended attractions/places to see along this route, and where best to spend one night on the trip?
thanks
Traveling by car around Sweden. We will take 2 days to go from Goteborg to Stockholm. We are staying about 42 km south of the airport, so on the northern side of the city.
I see 3 or more alternative routes:
- Route E45 - 44 - E20 - E18 going through Lidkopink, Mariestad and Orebo
- Route E20 - 49 - E20 - E18 going through FalkopingSkovde and Orebo
- Cut across to Jonkoping, then E4 to Stockholm, or up to Motala and meandier up to Orebo to Stockholm.
Give 2 days, what would be a recommended route and where best to spend one night on the trip?
thanks
