My nephew is seeking a Hotel in Stuttgart, when I stayed in the area the tram went past Hotel Flora Filderstr 43, the price is good and has good reviews. However I can,t seem to find the tram number. is there something direct to save him and his family having to change anywhere as the Hotel is 30 mins out of the city? I used the VVS website but there seemed to be a change involved each time and I,m sure I had direct transport and the tram stopped directly in front of this Hotel. I read German but Mark does not.

Hi there, I recently asked a few questions with regard to a German city break destination in Frankfurt and Hamburg (and have had some absolutely great responses), another possibility is Stuttgart. Has anyone visited Stuttgart at Christmas? What's the Christmas market like? Is it a recommended winter city break destination? Is there a recomended area of the city to stay? Any answers would, as always, be very much appreciated. Thanks Louise
Can someone please inform me if shops in Konigstrasse will be open on Boxing Day - 26th December 2012? And are shops open as well on Sundays? Thank you very much :-)
Hi, Me and my wife will be based out of Stuttgart from 18th October to 18th November. We plan to travel to as many places as possible during the weekends and also take any one week fully off and travel around. Both of us have Schengen visas and so would like to travel to other nearby EU countries as well. Please note that this will be our first time in Europe and so we want to cover most of the usual places. Need your help and suggestions for planning this out considering the following factors: 1. Both are 28 year old adults with Schengen visas 2. Like to travel in budget/economy throughout. Open to stays in good youth hostels 3. Will travel only during weekends but taking one week completely off for travelling apart from weekends 4. Please keep in mind the cold weather when you suggest places to visit We were thinking of visiting ITaly/Spain or a bit of both during our week off. Please suggest a good itinerary based on the above factors along with cheap travel and stay options. Thanks in advance!
Hello, I have always wanted to visit Stuttgart. My plan is to stay in Stuttgart for two days during Cannstatter Volksfest. Here are my questions: 1. Where in Stuttgart is Cannstatter Volksfest held? (I find two different locations, and I am confused) 2. Does anyone recommend any hotels around Cannstatter Volksfest to stay at? We have attended Munich's Oktoberfest and learned to stay close to the fairgrounds (if possible). It might be louder, but you do not have to deal with the metro traffic. Also, feel free to send any other suggestions. Thanks A Lot.
We are hopefully visiting the Porsche factory in Septmeber. I am finding it difficult to work out where to stay in Stuttgart. We will only be there one night but will have a few hours to look around in the afternoon. We don't have a car so would we take a taxi to the factory tour or public transport. Is the airport far from town? Another post I read suggested Ludswigberg as a good place to stay. Thanks Sylv
My wife and I will be visiting Ellmendingen this year and would like to know if there are buses from Stuttgart. We will be taking a train from Basel to Stuttgart but don't know how to get to Ellmendingen. Thanks for your help.

My husband and I will be in Stuttgart for a few nights at the end of September. Unfortunately, we have to stay near the airport as he's head of a large exhibition at the Messe there. We don't mind going into town for a great dinner. What are the best restaurants in Stuttgart - not necessarily German cuisine. How long a taxi ride would it be? Are there any tourist attractions I shouldn't miss seeing?
We are coming to Stuttgart to visit the Porsche and Mercedes Museums. Can you suggest a place to stay. We would prefer a small town nearby where we could walk to dinner, etc. We have a car.

I will be in Stuttgart for one day in May 2011, and it happens to be a Monday. It seems all the museums that I thought to visit are closed on Monday. What else is there to do in Stuttgart on a Monday afternoon?
I will be flying into Stuttgart on 2 May 2011 and need a hotel that is convenient to the airport, hauptbahnhof and car rental facilities. I was told that the InterCity Hotel at the hauptbahnhof was not taking reservations for standard rooms due to "Stuttgart 21" but they were able to give me a room under the "Business category". An acquaintance has cautioned me that I would not want to stay here during Stuttgart 21. I understand this has something to do with construction to add terminals at the station? Is it really that bad that I shouldn't stay here one night? I just need a place to sleep and will be leaving the next morning for my final destination. Anyone familiar with what this is about?
Can anybody help with cheap (used)car hire in Stuttgart for a week? I'll arrive in Stuttgart on November 17th, morning and leave on November 24th. Need any cheap car for one week.

Hi gang, I will be in Stuttgart during the Volksfest. The webpage (cannstatter-volksfest.de/ind... has 10 different venues. Are there any differences? Is there a recommended one? I would like to contact the "best" and see if I can reserve part of a table and then let whatever VT'rs join in if they wanted, but since I don't have a clue what I am doing, I thought it better to ask here first.
