We are staying at the swan nest hotel for a w/e break. Has anybody stayed in a good room overlooking the river and what room number-s would be that be please. Note we are using Tesco vouchers!!!!
Not sure what relevance the Tesco vouchers have - could you not phone the hotel and ask which rooms have a river view? The rooms seem to be much of a muchness, differentiating only from classification e.g. suite, executive, classic and so on. Suspect the upper gradings will have the good views.

Even if someone on VT has stayed at the hotel, you would still have to contact the hotel to book a specific room...so why not just phone them directly and ask for a room with a view? One doesn't usually get to choose one's room number on check-in and the chances of getting a room with a view are much higher if you contact the hotel in advance. As Hawkhead notes, rooms like this are likely to be at the higher rate (that's normal for hotels, of course). I don't think the Tesco vouchers will be relevant unless they restrict you to a certain room cost.

A member of my family has used Tesco Vouchers at MacDonalds Hotels ( though never at Stratford). I think it is certainly worth asking about a specific room - it seems to depend on how busy the hotel is what room you get, and they were once given on arrival a free "upgrade" to a superior room. They noted the room number and next time when booking with the Vouchers requested it and were allocated that room again at no extra charge.(Guess who looks after the 3 children for these little breaks!) But you should make your request at the time of booking .
