      The Witchery

      Edinburgh Apr 23, 2013 at 3:23 AM

Will be in Edinburgh this week-end, and was thinking of booking a table at the Witchery for the wife's 50th birthday. I see there are two dining rooms, and I want to choose the best. Anyone know the difference? One is called the secret garden and the other the Witchery.
      thanks

Scotlands malt whisky trail and the great glen way

      Scotland 19 hours ago

I represent a group of med students. We are willing to visit scotland's malt whisky trail in July and we have some questions regarding it. First of all, after walking the great glen way from Fort William, we will be traveling from Inverness on foot or by public transport to the region of the whisky trail. We will only be able to stay there for 2 days and we'd like to see and experience the essence of scottish whisky. Would you be able to recommend us the best way to travel between the distilleries? Could you also suggest us which distilleries are a must-see, since we probably wont be able to visit them all?
We've also heard that in July the great glen way is occupied with small flies which are unbearable. Is it true?
      Thanks for your advice :)

Ferries to Outer Hebrides: need to book?

      Scotland Apr 21, 2013 at 11:16 AM

My parents are visiting the Outer Hebrides e.g. North / South Uist next month. They will have a car. Information on the ferries says "booking advisable", but is advance booking likely to be necessary or can they just turn up? They want to do some cycling so would prefer to see how the weather is before making a crossing. Many thanks,
      L

Three Day Trip To Scotland ?

      Edinburgh May 7, 2013 at 3:01 AM

Hi , I'm going to be in England this summer for a summer camp and I was thinking about visiting Scotland but I'll only have a weekend to do this trip. I was planning to take a train from London to Edinburgh on Friday and come back on Sunday. But I'd also like to see Highlands as well, so is it possible for me to take another train to Inverness from Edinburgh after a day in Edinburgh ?

To sum up I'm planning :

      -London-Edinburgh [ Thursday afternoon via train (It's 4.5 hours I guess ? ) ]

      Friday : Edinburgh

      - Edinburgh-Inverness [ Friday night via train ( 3.5 - 4 hours ? )

Saturday : Inverness ( Loch Ness? , Cawdor Castle? , Highland Wildlife Park?, Eilean Donan Castle ? )

      - Inverness-London [ Sunday morning via train ]

So what do you think ? Is it possible ? Any suggestions ?

( by the way I'm 16 years old and going to get a BritRailYouthPass )

      Nude Sunbathing in Stornoway

by Arbuckle Online Now Jan 29, 2005 at 3:28 AM

Hi, I live in Norway, I will be bringing a coach-party of gay men to Scotland in July, we will be visiting at Outer Hebrides. Can anyone tell us, is it okay to sunbathe nude in Stornoway? Here in Norway people aren't too bothered about such things: in my village people can sunbathe topless or nude in the churchyard. Is it okay to sunbathe nude in churchyards in Stornoway? Or do we go to the local nude beach?
