I am visiting Birmingham and have plans to go to Stonehenge. Can someone please tell me the easiest way to get there from Birmingham (not by car) Thank you
Getting to Stonehenge without a car is not that easy. I got there by bicycle from Salisbury. More info on http://www.stonehenge.co.uk/arrive.htm

You may be able to get a train to Salisbury (www.nationalrail.co.uk ) and then a bus to somewhere near Stonehenge. The Tourist Information people in Birmingham might be able to advise you, because it really isn't that easy to get to without a car. Another option (though probably a very long day, and not particularly cheap) might be to go to London by train early in the morning and go on one of the coach trips which take in Stonehenge. Having said all that, Stonehenge is superb but very badly presented (and usually full of visitors, which destroys its atmosphere). You can console yourself with that thought if you find it isn't practical!
