Need recommendations for Stockholm. We have 9 hours in Stockholm. Should we hire a Tour Guide to show us the highlights of the city or should we hire a taxi? We are a family of 4 adults and 3 small children. Any idea as to what would be a fair cost? Your help is much appreciated.
Where is your starting point? A cruise ship or the airport? If it's the airport, does your nine hour layover include the time you will need to travel too and from the airport. There is a fast train that takes just 20 minutes into the city but you need to allow time for immigration control, buying tickets, waiting for the train, etc. Assuming your nine hours are in normal business hours, ie during the day , I would suggest you take the hop on hop off boat ride. Stockholm is beautiful from the water and you will have time to make a couple of stops along the way. A taxi won't give you any commentary. How small is "small children"? Too small to appreciate much, or old enough to enjoy a short visit to a museum? The Vasa ship museum is fabulous, well worth an hour of your nine, the HOHO boat stops there . A bit more detail in your question would be a big help in providing you with a feasible plan for your day.
