Hi, I am going to be in Melbourne for a few days next February and am looking for a quite cafe or a bar somewhere in the CBD.
I know Melbourne, but have not been for a number of years.
HI ! I'm in Melbourne for two weeks and i would like to find someone to meet with and who's eager to show me around the city or is in melbourne right now and would like to visit the city and its surroundings with me.
Thank you for your replies :-)
was the Lylac nightclub in an old church building in Geelong
When i was traveling in Australia 9 years ago bin 2004, i got a 150$ fine for having no ticket in the public transportation in Melbourne.
I am planning on going back to Australia soon, and i was wondering if anyone here knows if i could have a problem getting into the country because of that?
Is there an expiration date on these fines? maybe after 10 years?
Thank you in advance..
How far is the beach from the righton Metro Station ?
Been at a park some time ago, and birds come and feed off your hands (Rosella's etc...), and it's not Healesville sanctuary, does anyone know where this could be?
we are coming by train to geelong for the day on weds 13 nov. Any suggestions where we can walk? is there a jump on jump off bus? interesting sites with in reasonable distance from railway station?
Hoping to get some help re: farm work for our 2nd year Visa. Can anybody recommend a reliable/paid farming job preferably on the East Coast? We're not looking to go through a working hostel either.
Our group of 12 adults are taking a cruise in November and will dock at Melbourne for 10 hours. We would like to go to the Ocean Road and to also see the 12 Apostles. Can any body give us some advises. How long is the drive? Is there tours available? How's the road condition. We heard something about that the road on the Ocean Road has been damaged!!
I'm a new immigrant moving to Melbourne in October with my wife and one year old daughter. We would like to rent a 2 bedroom apartment with easy access to public transportation. We have looked at places through realestate.com.au and most of the places we like are the new apartment projects in southbank, docklands, and travencore. Out of the 3 suburbs, I can get a 2 bedroom at Travencore for about $360/week and the other 2 are even more expensive. My budget is about $300/week for now. Are there other areas where they have these new apartment projects, preferably high rise? We have looked at places like Northcote, Heidelberg, Ivanhoe, etc. but most apartments there are very old and within a small complex; but we would prefer a larger apartment complex. I won't mind a bit further from the CBD as long as there is good public transport. Suggestions/advice would be appreciated.
how to best transport a group of five to Warrnambool plus luggage from an international flight
My family of 2 adults and 2 kids (6yo and 11yo) will be visiting Melbourne for the first time in mid to end-November and staying in the St Kilby area. We won't be renting a car and intend to use public transport as much as possible. Would really appreciate any suggestions and directions to a fruit farm via public transport please? Due to our limited geographical knowledge, we have difficulty trying to figure out a way to get to a farm listed in www.pickyourown.org. Thanks!
I will be traveling to Melbourne from the US in a week. Due to misinformation given a month ago, I just found out that my cell phone does not have international capabilities (no SIM card). I do not want to incur the costs of an early upgrade and purchasing a new phone for this trip since I will only be there for about 10 days. What would be the best, most inexpensive option to have a cell phone to use for local calls/texts while in Melbourne? I really only need it to keep in contact with the person I am traveling with in the event we get separated. I have tried researching options, but it's becoming very overwhelming. Can I just by a tracfone or something similar and just add minutes as needed? If so, where would be the best place to purchase one?
My son was going to take his girlfriend for her 1st 4 wheel drive experience and then
give her a lovely night at Kudos (to take the edge off :)) But with the rain, it is going
to be rough which he doesnt mind but may be too much for her What can you suggest that involves some scenic driving, even a bit off track, in this weather.
we plan to visit FC for 3 nights middle of august. Can anyone give me some feedback re these two lodges? If the pricing is almost identical, which would be better?
Read that Nelse provide free pick-up from the bus stop, which is great. However, someone mentioned in TA that room is stiflingly hot..
We are novice skiers. Thus, will mostly be using the Falls Express Chairlift. Saw in the map that Nelse is nearer, not much.. Shorter by 2 minutes walk.
We also intend to eat out every dinner. Thus, would prefer a place closer to restaurants, but not noisy bars.
I'm going to FC middle of August for 3 nights, staying In one of the lodgings in the snow village. I have never stayed up there before. I read that it is a ski-in-ski-out environment.. What do people wear when they go to restaurants or pubs from their lodgings? Do they ski there (thus, just west the ski boots) or they wear other water proof boots/shoes?
Is the snow on the roads?
Aside from being able to rent ski boots up at the village, can snow walking boots be rented as well?
Hi. I am going to be in Melbourne in September and would love to take some photos of the Canola Fields. I would appreciate it if someone would confirm whether they will be in flower at that time and where the best place is for me to find them? Actual Road names would be very helpful.
Heading to Geelong with 2 adults and 4 kids, can anyone recommend a good House, that we can rent from 6th Dec - 27th Dec, looking at something around AU80 per night, if possible.
As I am planning to come visit Mel and Syd, I am curious about kind of help exchange when traveling between Vietnam and Australia. Let say: you go to VN and I will be your tour guide and support everything to make your trip pleasant and vice versa, I come to your country and you help me. No charge at all. Is there anyone interested?
If we have 2 kids (aged 4 & 2), Warrock Cattle Farm or Churchill Island Heritage Farm is better to go?
Hi,Guys...I am going to Melbourne next week and travel alone,I am backpacker,so i will travel around Melbourne by taking train or bus...Is there any way I can check timetable for that?
Hi, I am thinking to go to Melbourne but want to know if there is any bus or shuttle from the international terminal to Melbourne CBD...
If anyone can share the info, that will be great!
We are a couple in our sixties and need a apartment for a month to six weeks in dec/jan when our daughter has her baby. We need an apartment to rent but hopefully not at an exorbitant price. Can anyone advise us as to good plces to look. Thank you.
Hey everyone, I'm Sophie
I'm new to all of this but its just a quick question.
I'm 21 from London i will be studying in Melbourne City for 7 months. And i'm unsure of where to stay for accommodation obviously i'm on a cheap budget and can't be spending $250 per week which is what is coming up. Does anyone know of any student(ish) areas.
Also a-lot of the room rentals sound really bloody boring i may-be 21 and doing my final year, but i still have a life and want to socialise :D. Many of the rooms offered want boring people at the sounds of it. I want to know if anyone knows of a student website for international students travelling to Australia to have a chat and get to meet new people. I want to take full advantage of being Australia not pitched up in a room full of people that can't be bothered to talk! We only live once and i intend on getting the most out of my stay. HELP PEOPLE!!!!! :)
Hi there. I'm due to touch down in Melbourne in under 2 weeks. I just wanted some opionions or what would we be best when it came to apartment searching? Would going direct to real estate agents be the best way? Does anybody have any safe/trustworthy websites they can recommend? My girlfiend had been looking on flatmates.com.au but she has her suspisions as the apartments and prices look to good to be true. Can anybody verify whether or not this is a trustworty website.
Thanks in advance.
Rialto Tower, Melbourne vs Eureka Tower on Southbank, which one is a better choice to view Melbourne from above?
Just curious if there are others who have used the Melbourne free City Circle Tram and Melbourne Visitor Shuttle plus walking to See-It-All in the city of Melbourne in 3 full days like what we plan to do? Mind sharing your experiences? What are the places you have visited? The pros and cons of using the public transport in Melbourne? Long waiting hours? Can’t find a seat in the bus/tram and got to stand all the way from point A to point B? Safe to walk in the small lanes in Melbourne? Too much walking & too tired legs? etc. etc. We search online and couldn’t find any reviews of this sort :D
