I'm planning a short winter trip to Tasmania, 2 nights in Stanley, and 3 nights in Cradle Mountain in early August. Is the Cradle Mountain bit crazy?? Could we be snowed in?? Perhaps 3 nights in Stanley and 2 in Cradle? Any advice? Thanks.
Cradle Mountain is such a beautiful place and the roads are excellent so unlikely you would be snowed in so I would stay 3 nights and 2 in Stanley.Stanley is a nice place too and a visit to the Nut and up to Highfield House are a must. You are welcome to check these two places out on my Tasmanian pages. Cheers and have a wonderful trip.

Hi, Unlikely to be snowed in but you never can tell. I would recommend spending more time around Cradle Mt. A helicopter ride over Cradle to Fury Gorge is great. You can stay at Dove Lake but I stayed at Lemonthyme Lodge which is near Dove Lake. http://www.lemonthyme.com.au/
