National Parks Pass

by largie Online Now Apr 6, 2008 at 8:55 PM

the Pass equates to good value in my mind, especially since we will be in tasmania for 3 weeks and intend on visiting many NP's! any opinions?
If we intend on using a rental vehicle, does the NP Pass sticker need to be attached? Can it be displayed in a prominent position?
Can anyone tell me the current prices to do the Gordon River cruise on the Lady Jane Franklin 2 and the West Coast Railway trip? Are both these activities recommended? Anymore highly recommended activities while we are holidaying in Tasmania?

As a day pass costs22 for the vehicle and 11 per person and a holiday pass for eight weeks just56/22 it is clear that the holiday pass is the better deal, if you intend to visit several NP's and perhaps stay longer than a day in some of them.

Cruise rates depend on the kind of seating you choose, and on the season. Now in April the best category costs 195, in window recliner only 115.

You can check your dates here:

Info about the railway trip here:

At the bottom of the page you can calculate the costs for the time you want to make the trip.

In the next ten days the trip costs between103 and 121 in Tourist Class, and195 in Premier.
