going to hobart in july 2005

hi everybody, i'm new to this forum. hope you guys can help me. my wife and i are thinking of going to tasmania in july. is this a good timing? i understand that it should be winter time right? what is the temperature like? will there be a lot of rain? how about those B&R hotels, will they be opened during this period? thanks in advance cheers Kenny
