I made a booking at the Palm Apartments in Chennai. I want to know if they can be trusted to keep the reservation after I have paid a 50 % deposit

I wanted to know if there are Government or private bus facilities in Kodaikanal to go from one tourist place to another as call taxi charges are too high !!

how to reach kodaikanal from coimbatore as cab charges are really to much...can anyone suggest hws the govt bus transport and is there any private bus service directly for kodaikanal?

I would like to visit Chennai somewhere in June.I planned to stay there for 5days and 4nights. I would like to appoint a tour guide just for 2days basis who can ptake me around to lvisit the temples,historical places,beaches ang shopping spot. Could anyone tell me on how to go about it since it is my first visit there. I would like to know roughly the charges as well.Since i already booked the hotel i dont want to stay anywhere else in that 2days.I want it like daily trip.Pls advice.

We plan to visit Kodaikanal,Kerala and finally take a flight back from Tiruchirappalli international airport. so how do i get from Tiruchirappalli to Kodaikanal and from there to Kerala? we would love to try a comfortable train ride in the middle.could anyone suggest the best route.

Hello, I am from Maldives. I need assistance in planning a medical trip to Coimbatore (Ganga Hospital) for my 4 year old daughters surgery. Actually I am very much confused on how to plan the trip, because of my previous experience. My husband, my daughter and I went to Coimbatore this year in June. We flew to Chennai and from the airport we took a taxi to Coimbed Bus station, and then we went on Bus to Coimbatore. It took almost 12 hours :O. My daughter was on my lap most of the time and i had body pain for almost 2 days because of sitting on the chair for so long. So this time I searched internet a bit to check on the nearest place to Coimbatore that I can fly to from Maldives. I got the idea that Cochin was nearest to Coimbatore.(According to Google Map its a journey of around 3 hours by car). So, I have confirmed our air tickets to Cochin for 21st November (next Wednesday). We would arrive at Cochin in the evening around 15:30. This time My Mother will be accompanying my husband, me n my daughter. Now, I would like your help in choosing the most convenient and price worthy way to reach Coimbatore from Cochin by road. Should we hire a taxi or should we go for the bus or train? I am finding it very difficult to convince my self that trains would be a good option, because of the fact that my daughter would be with me, and I haven't even seen how the inside of a train looks like. And, i get confused with all the different types of classes and every thing. I am just very confused because I do not want the trip to be very tiring like the one before. I need to be in good health and perfectly fit and prepared for my daughters surgery when we reach there. I hope to get great ideas from this forum. Thank you.

hi there does anyone know where "cotton street" is in relation to egmore. apparently its a side street known for selling all cotton goods and i want to get some sort of outfit when i arrive there. i think the real name is pantheon st but not sure. any ideas guys and gals ?

hi guys im off next saturday for my india adventure. i start in chennai.i am staying in the egmore ara. i wish to go to marina beach and the parek hotel and also the residency for a drink along with the other things to see. can i walk to these places from egmore or shall i get a tuk tuk/bus or taxi. cheers guys

hi there anyone know what bars and clubs in chennai are open past midnight ? ive heard that the drinking laws are changing and a lot more relaxed but do not know any specific bars/clubs that are open late. thanks for the input or advice received

hi vt'ers when in chennai i will be staying near to egmore station. of course i want to sample the night life and was wondering how far all the best places are from egmore. the mixx club in dead opposite but, for example, how far is pasha which is in the park sheridan hotel ? will we have to get taxis all the time or can we walk. i dont mind what clubs we go to but it looks like the 5 star ones require a large entry fee so it might be best if i can decide which ones to go to before i arrive i could go to one a night as ill be there 3 nights. it would be a shame if i pay say 1000 rupees entry then the club is rubbish and i have to go elsewhere. thanks in advance huys and gals

hi guys when i am in chennai for 3 days i will want to try some local cheap bars. most of the ones online are at hotels and quite expensive. are there local bars that i will come across while touring around as these are batter places to meet normal local people rather than paying loads at a 5 star hotel. thanks

hi guys further to my earlier post, when getting a taxi from chennai to puducherry. about how much would it cost and do you tell the driver you will be stopping off on the way or do you hire them for the half a day ? what the best way to go about it ? we will be in chennai for 3 nights before we go so will have time to look around at different options/prices thanks

hi vt'ers what will i expect when i arrive at chennai airport at 3am in the morning. is it easy to get a prepaid taxu then ? i will be going to my hotel which is close to egmore station. do i tell then my hotel name or just say the station. it is literally across the road from the train station. thanks

hi vt'ers when i get to chennai (nov) it will be on a sunday and i intend to go to pasha in the evening. what bars should i enjoy beforehand to get some cheap drinks as i dont want to have many in pasha as they will be too expensive. also are there any places that open past midnight. any advice appreciated

hi guys when i arrive in chennai it will be on the 17th nov at 5 in the morning. i have booked for the 17th and they say it is 24hr check in. what do you think the chances of me getting in my room then or is it likkely i will have to wait. i have sent the hotel an email but havent heard from them which is usual. anyone got experience of this kind of thing. its only a 3 star hotel by the way so it might make a difference thanks

I have no other alternative than to visit kodaikanal for one week either in June end or July end. Is the kodailkanal climate suitable for this time.

Hello, This Tuesday I'm arriving in Coimbatore (by bus from Cochin) and need to go by Taxi to NAVAKKARAI (I go to SARANYA AYURVEDIC HOSPITAL MAVUTHAMPATTY NAVAKKARAI - 641 105 ) It is one of the branches of THE ARYA VAIDYA PHARMACY Ayurvedic hospital. But when I type in NAVAKKARAI it is NOT found by Google maps. I cannot find NAVAKKARAI on any map....does it have another name or what is NAVAKKARAI (so small village that it doesn't exist on maps)? Thank you for any help an suggestions about getting from Coimbatore to NAVAKKARAI . Thank you.
