How is the weather of Sydney in December?
Hi. I want to know about hotels. Where can I find a good, nice and cheap hotel?
How much cost 3 days and 2 nights?
Hi, hope someone can give me a little advice, I was looking to stay in Parramatta New Year's Eve but need to know if I can get public transport back from Sydney after midnight, (night bus, trains etc) and any suggestions of convenient hotel for train and ferry would be appreciated. Regards Martin.
Hi. I'm planning to travel to Sydney soon, so I want to know what are the most important places for visiting in 3 days.
Hi. I'm planning to travel to Sydney and I want to know: what are the most important places for visiting over there? How many places can I visit in a whole day?
I would like to do a day trip to Watsons Bay (the gap) as advised by VT'ers in my earlier questions. Can someone give me some guides / links as a starting point for my planning:
- Plan to do this on a weekday (late October) - unless there are advise it is better to go on weekends?
- From CBD, where do I need to go catch ferry? Public transport timings and links would be helpful
- What is the best sequence I should do this (to cover Watsons Bay and Manly) and do not miss the main sights?
THANKS YOU! =)
Is the Rock Markets only on Sundays?
Hi - my second time in Sydney after 1 year, would like suggestion on what to do. During my first visit I did these: walks around The Rock, Darling Harbour, cruise to see Opera House, walk from Bondi to Coogee (happen to see Scuptures by the Sea) and an overnight trip in Katoomba to see 3 Sisters. I am keen to do the walk from Bondi to Coogee again (and see Sculptures by the Sea again!), day trip to Manly, contemplating another trip to Katoomba (or let me know any other interesting options for day trip out of the city please).
Looking for more suggestions so I can plan out my itenary ahead - my interest is more on sightseeing, photography, experience new culture and would like to try local food / local activities. =) Not much interest on shopping, but would like to see markets - I do have a Saturday late morning and whole of Sunday - so let me know what markets to check out.
Dear fellow VTs,
Does anyone know of good & cheap service aparments to recommend in Sydney?
We are a family of 5 adults & 2 kids (7 pax) and we are driving.
I found an apartment in Kogarah, which I think is in outskirts of Sydney.
I don't know whether to stay there. I was thinking that if we drive into Sydney, is it very expensive to park in cty centre?
I actually don't want to rent a car in sydney but because the aipport shuttle from Sydney centre to airport is quite x, it may be more worthwhile to rent a car.
I will be driving to other parts of Australia before that.
we are booked on a short cruise to support diabites in January and we are flying up from Melbourne.
The departures are now from White Bay and we have no idea where that is and would value advise re getting there from the airport.
We love Sydney and think a few days before the cruise at a pub might be good but again no idea wher to look for a reasonable pub near the ship and near the city so ask your advise.
appreciate any information that you can give us
I've heard there's an island you can walk to on a low tide. Can tell me if there is?
I am planning on travelling to Australia next year (hopefully April 2014) I have so many questions I don't know where to begin!
I'm new to this, never been to Australia and never owned a backpack so this is going to be a real adventure for me but something I've always wanted to do and don't want to regret not travelling years down the line.
I'm applying for a working visa so how easy is it to get work once there? I'm planning on starting in Sydney but have no idea where to go next, I'm going by myself which scares me but numerous people have said I will meet people out there so if anyone here is planning on going out next year and fancies getting in touch let me know :) would appreciate any advice on hostels-where is good to stay? Money-roughly how much is daily living? Security-are hostels etc safe?
Thanks for all help

i am wanting to visit sydney for a couple months, where would i stay thats in the city but not a hotel
we will be in Sydney for only 5 days. We would like to see a little bit of the outback closest to Sydney. What is your recommendation ?
Also is it possible to visit the Great Barrier reef in a day or two ? closest to Sydney?
Will my family like to travel to Sydney Aug 5 thru 10 next month, is it too cold and dreary?
Soon, I'm flying internationally back to Sydney, Australia — my home town — but I'm flying back with a ukulele (which is made of wood). I've never actually had to deal with customs before, so what should I expect? Is there a chance they will confiscate the item? Or do they take it and send it to me later? Or is there a chance I'll be able to walk straight through without a problem?
Hi I'm arriving in Sydney for my last leg of my trip Thursday 25th July -30th July and would like to know if there is anyone that can show me around the area? I love running and know there is a 10k run near Bondi beach (i think), i'm not all about runs I would like to walk around the city with someone who knows where the best places are and the cheapest places to eat.
I'm fun, bubbly and love to talk. :)
Currently booked in the Hostel on Bondi beach.
So interested in going to the Blue Mountains and not sure if i should do a tour or a self hike , if anyone is interested in doing that with me or can advise what is best, that would be awesome.
have a top day Emma :)
Hi fellow Vts,
My brothers family, my parents & I are thinking of renting 2 cars to drive from Sdyney to Melbourne & back. I read that there are few different routes to take between these 2 cities, so we are thinking of taking 2 different routes to & fro. Do you guys have any recommendation? We only have around 14 days, so I was thinking, is it too far to drive to Melbourne, or should we just drive to Canberra? Is blue mountain along the way too?
Another question is that should we rent the car directly from Sydney airport, or should we take public transport whilst in Sydney, & only collect the car when we are driving out of the city?
Is it possible to catch a bus between Newcastle railway station and Pokolbin (we are staying at Harrington's Irish Pub). Or should we catch a train from Newcastle to a more convenient railway station and then catch a bus?
Hi, I just turned 18 and planing to move to new castle in a about 4 or 5 months. Where is the best place to live for a cheap one room apartment? And is it easy to find a job?
Where should I look an apartment?
My niece is going to be on her honeymoon in August there. I am looking for a tour to send them on so they can see some of the wild life. I did try booking with Blue Mountain, but the affordable tour was already booked for the days they will be there. I would like to keep it around $150 per person.
Hi there, so we are traveling to Australia on the 27th this month, and we were wondering are there any hotel recommendations for hotels close by to the airport for a one night stay. We are also driving to Gold Coast the next day, so do you know what time we should start driving? Thank you in advance for all the answers :)
Like the title says I've managed to lose my lifetime work of music compositions somewhere between Coogee beach and Sydney Central. I've already contacted the hostel in Coogee, the local police office, public transports, the hostel in Central and Jetstar which I flew with from there to Cairns. What else can I do ?
I will probably spend last weekend in Sydney. I have spent a weekend in BLue Mountain and planning to venture outside again. Is there any recommendation? 2-3 hour of trip by train will be ok. Anything interesting, nature, sports interest will be fine. Is melbourne possible to visit in a day?
Hey, I am French national thinking of going to Australia with a WHV in sept-oct.
I was woundering if it was safe for women to go alone in Australia or if there were things to avoid.
It has always been a dream to go there but i am still figuring out if it is a smart move to make.
I am staying in CBD in Sydney and planning to visit Blue mountain this weekend.
1. What is the best way to go to the place? How much is the cost of train ticket?
2. What are the activities /site I can visit in Blue mountain.
3. What is the safe time to return to CBD.
4. Any other tips?
We are going to be in sydney in July what kind of weather should we typically expect? And do museums and attractions close earlier in winter?
Which way did you go?
