Hi, I have again come up with few questions that I require your help of. We (2 of us)are visiting Kovalam, Kanyakumari, Munnar and Cochin in Feb end. We will be spending 4 days in Kovalam and Kanyakumari and after that I will be on my way to Munnar. My questions are- (1) How should I split my days in Kovalam and Kanyakumari? (2) Which of these 2 places would be the most convenient option to start my journey towards Munnar and how many hours will the journey take? (3) Is there any luxury bus services available from Kovalam/Kanyakumari to reach Munnar? If yes how should I book it? (4) How to reach Cochin from Munnar(again is there any luxury bus services available)and how long will it take? Please help...I am on it for more than 2 months now and still clueless... Thanks a ton as always.
hi 1. You can hire a taxi and leave kovalam early in the morning to Kanyakumari, visiting Padmanabhapuram palace and Sucheendram temple on the way.. you can watch sunset and return to Kovalam by late night. 2.To reach Munnar, if you are travelling by Taxi, it will take about 8 hrs from Kovalam. Other alternative is to reach Kochi by early morning train and then travel by taxi. Its only 140 kms from Cochin which takes approx 2 1/2 hrs. 3.Kanyakumari and Munnar are in opposite directions. 4.Kochi and munnar is connected by state run buses. Not very luxurious.. just basic. If you need cheaper mode of transport, while you are in trivandrum, visit the State transport corporation bus terminal where you can book a ticket to Munnar from Trivandrum. It will be cheap but as I said very basic features on bus. Will not be convenient at all...

The best way to reach Munnar is from Cochin.We had engaged a taxi from Cochin and ,believe me,it was one of the best rides I have had so far.There were hills covered with beautifully maintained endless tea gardens and the temperature slowly reduced as we climbed up hill.The distance is about 140 KMs and the journey taks about 4 hours.
