My husband and I will be in St. John's and Corner Brook in October 2005 for a day, arriving on a cruise ship. Does any one know of any English speaking guides who would be willing to show us the sights for a day? Also, what are the not to miss sights!! Thanks in advance, Lu
I don't know tour guides as individuals who would show you around, but you need to go down to St/ John's Harbour and go out on the Scademia if you have time. The view of The Battery, Signal Hill and Fort Amherst is wonderful from the water and you might just see some whales and puffins.

Sights not to miss... Signal Hill for certain. The crooked houses... The Battery.. whales and/or puffins from the Scademia.. and most of all the people. Take some time to stop and talk.
