Weather in July

by stjkind Online Now Apr 7, 2012 at 6:53 AM

What will the weather be like the last two weeks of July? We like the Coral Bay part of the island, and are unsure if it will be too hot to relax. Also, what about hurricanes at that time of year? Thunderstorms each afternoon?

While we have not visited StJ in July I can tell you this much about the weather on StJ. You should have rain once per day at least except in the very dry months. It will rain on one part of the island and be sunny and hot on the rest. Weather changes quickly. Thunderstorms can be heavy and move quickly.

If you find a place to stay in the hillsides you should have an island breeze to cool you. It is never too hot to relax on StJ!

The hottest part of the year in the Caribbean is September and October. Coral Bay is a lovely part of the island to relax. Coral Bay is about a 30 minute drive from the town of Cruz Bay where you will arrive by ferry from St. Thomas. There is a 30% chance of rain daily. Sometimes it shows up and sometimes it doesn't. Hurricane season is June 1st thru November 30th. Currently July has just produced a couple of tropical waves which produce a thunderstorm.
