Hurricanes are a hit or miss thing...The USVI has been hit a lot lately...but that is not a reason to not go. [3 times in last 15 years or so?] You will survive, and you can't predict if one will even come close to your island beforehand, so don't even worry about it! Hot and humid is the tropics...year round. The rains come...and then it goes!

For a good idea about our weather, go to Basically, it's perfect year round with a fluctuation of about 6 degrees from the hottest part of summer to the coolest part of winter. It usually raiins everyday, but only for 10-20 minutes, then the sun is back out with rainbows. "Hurricane Season" is from June 1st to November 30th, with August and Sept. being the busiest time. STT hasn't had one in a few years, but there have been a few small 'canes (category 1 or 2) in the last 10 years and we had a whopper (Marilyn - Cat. 5. Sustained winds of 200mph!) in Sept of '95 and in '89 we had Hugo....before that it was something like 65 years since a big one hit. If you check the Tropical Update on you will see if there is one headed this way. Nothing is 100%, but the info should be accurate enough for you to decide if you want to postpone the trip.
