Hello, I am planning a trip to Srilanka with family from 15th August to 20th August. Possible itinerary looks like 2 day/nights in Kandy, 1 day/night in Nuwara Eliya and 2 day/night in Bentota? I hope this would be an ideal itinerary. Is it good to depart from Bentota or Kandy? i have a flight departing at 4 PM, so what time is best to leave Bentota? Also, is there a dining place/restaurant for lunch at Colombo airport?

Any recommendation for a good tour operator or better to organize it with the tour desks at hotel? I also heard that tourists were robbed at some guest houses or hotels? is it true?

I will be landing in BIA, Katunayaka, on May 25 for three weeks. I just learned, 25 th is Vesak day. Are the duty free shops closed for Vesak? I am lookig to buy some good scotch at BIA for my consumption during the stay.

We are planning a trip to Sri Lanka 20:th of Dec 2013 to 10:th of January 2014. Do you recommend to book in advance, or will there be a good chance to find decent accomodation for a familly of 4 (2 adults 2 children aged 9 and 7)?
We plan to go to Unawatuna, Mirissa, Yala (Or Uda Walawe), Ella and Tangalle (or a beach near Tangalle).

We are visiting Kalutara in April and we would like to make a one day trip from Kalutara; I love taking pictures (especially from the local people and their habits and work)

1) I would like to visit (Beruwala, fish market, mosque and lighthouse.) Which would be the best?

2) We would like to go to Galle and visit the town.

3) we would like to do a trip up the Madhu Ganga .

Hello! Planning a trip to Sri Lanka with a few friends. It's only for a week, so trying to find a place where we can maximize our time. We are 20-somethings looking for a nice, relaxing beach, somewhere to get a massage, and a little bit of nightlife. Basically, a few Western English teachers looking for a beautiful getaway from Riyadh, Saudi Arabia! Any suggestions on where to stay? I've heard good things about Galle. . . Thoughts?

Hello everyone. My partner and I are considering making a spontaneous trip to Arugam Bay on the East coast of Sri Lanka around the 15th March for 4 weeks. We both surf so will plan to spend a lot of time in the water or on the beach. Does anyone know, from experience, what the weather is like at Arugam Bay during March? I've read a lot of conflicting info saying that the 'season' starts in March or April but nowhere really talks much about what the weather is doing.
Also, is it the kind of beach where you can sunbathe and not get hassled?

I'll be staying in the hotel Amaya Hills and need information on how to go/and return from the hotel to the place of Kandy Perahera.

Hi, my brother and I arrive in Colombo from Chennai for the final five days of our 3 month trip to South Asia (we fly back to London from Colombo) and I was wondering if accommodation was as readily available as cheap as it can be found in India? We're currently paying between 400 and 800INDR mark (currently in Goa but that's been the average price range for most of India) and are hoping for similar prices in Colombo. Hello, Men and my girlfriend are planning on going to Sri Lanka in the beginning of June. We plan on spending our time in Trinccomalee. The plan is to fly between Ratmalana and Trinco with Helitours. So I have three questions, 1. How's the weather in that region in the beginning och June? 2. Wich is the easiest way to get from Colombo intl Airport to Ratmalan airport (cost and time). 3. Greetings everyone, I am flying into Colombo Sat. am and leaving Monday pm. I will be there for altogether around 58 hours...does anyone know if they will make a fuss and demand I pay for the full visa or would I be fined? If the visa is for two days and I receive it on Saturday, there wouldn't be a problem since I am leaving Monday...the question is, do they write the hours down upon receival of transit visa?
