I am going to Sri Lanka on the 8th of September 2012 and I am going to be there till the 15th. I want to know which are the places I could cover during this time and I am backpacking alone. I want to cover as many places as possible. Heard that the Cultural Triangle is pretty good. Would it be the right time to visit there? And also I am doing a budget trip. Please suggest cheap places to stay and also cheap modes of transport. Thanks a lot guys
Hi there, Cheap transport: bus and train, no doubt. Triangle however has not very good internal bus links, you might have to hire a tuktuk or car there for some trips. In 8 days better focus on 2 areas. Indeed Triangle (most guesthouse choice in Dambulla and Sigiriya) and Kandy. Weather is supposedly okay esp. in the morning. Next to that stay first or last night in Negombo for some beach feeling. All the best, & [Sandya]
