anyone been to the knitting factory of late?? i'm going to a show tomorrow, mushroomhead with Livan and was interested to hear about the venue.. Livan puts on a sick show so i'm hoping the venue is dope as well.. any comments Spokanians?

We are flying into Spokane from Buffalo. Our final destination is Salmo BC. There is a bus but it takes way to long ( we are seniors). My son lives in Salmo and he will meet us but he cannot get away from work until after our flight arrives. It takes him 3 hours from Salmo to Spokane if there are no hold-ups at the border. We are trying to find a way to meet him half way. Is there bus transportation from Spokane going north towards Bonners Ferry:Rossland or Waterton Lakes? Anywhere up those highways would suit us perfectly. Any suggestions for us? Thank you for your time, Kate Kate

Good morning. My husband and I are considering moving to the Spokane area in the hopes of finding jobs and discovering and exploring a totally new(to us!) area. Since we have not been to Spokane before, we would like input from anyone who lives there, or is familiar with the city, on the best neighborhoods to consider renting a single-family home. We are in our early 50's/60's, both in the Accounting field, we like peace and quiet, nature, etc and are not into the party/nightlife scene. We are looking for a safe, quiet area with rents in the600-$1000/mo range. We would really appreciate all feedback and comments, or even referrals to good realtors in the area. I'm hearing rumors that the Lincoln heights movie theatre and the pizza parlor at the end of the building aren't around anymore. What gives? Is this true? I grew up nearby and went to these places all the time.

I'll be there from June 10-13th (Wed thru Friday). Obviously the parks are great, and I plan to visit those. I'm interested in finding a local restaurant where the locals go....I don't want to be surrounded by tourists for the entire time I'm there. I'll have a car. I like places that have historical significance. It doesn't have to be fancy, though that's okay too, but I'd like something with old romantic charm. thank you. Kim

Hi, I am hoping to take the train from Chicago across the US, to about Spokane then travel north to Revelstoke, BC to visit friends. The train from Chicago to Spokane looks good, although it arrives at 1.30am (where do you stay?). I will be holidaying with my 3 teenage kids but would like to avoid driving if possible. Where do we go for fun and dancing, near the downtown area. I will be making several business trips to that area. Also can you suggest some 4 star hotels with nightlife or close by.

y husband and I are originally from Alaska and transplanted to Texas four years ago. We are now wanting to head back to the North West and thinking of moving to Spokane or the Coeur d'Alene area? We are really into the outdoors... snowboarding, hiking, biking, camping, fishing... all that good stuff. We are about to start a family, and my parents want to relocate with us. We are not really into night life too much, but enjoy going out every now and then and we also love local festivals and all that fun stuff. What we're trying to get is more information about the areas. We really want to visit to help make up our minds, but don't know what parts of town to check out and such. We are not having much luck with realtors helping us, so I figure this is a good place to check!! We want to know about good parts of town and such!! Any and all help is greatly appreciated!! What is the nightlife in downtown Spokane in June and July? I specifically am looking at restaurants, nightclubs, dancehalls, and casinos. I'll be staying at a downtown hotel without a car. Thanks!
