Hi, I'm considering going to Croatia from the UK in the summer of this year. I'd like to be able to learn to sail and this company appears to have very reasonable rates and the possibility of a verifiable qualification afterwards: activityyachting.com/Croatia... Does anyone have any experience using this company or would recommend any other companies that do this sort of thing in this region or possibly another region. In addition to this I'd like to fit in a day or two fishing, does anyone know of any good fishing charters that cater to single or small group travelers? Thanks Dave
What is the availability of guided tours in Trogir/Split during mid-October? We are arriving by cruise ship in Trogir.

Hi, I will be in Split in August and was thinking of visiting either the Krka National Park or the further away Plitvice National Park. I know that Krka is 30 mins and Plitvice is around a three hour bus ride. Also the rafting in the river Cetina. How easy is to book a day tour in Split for these, with only a day in advance? Also if someone has any recomendations on a particular tour? Thanks.
Can you get off the bus along the way and catch a later bus? We would like to stop and have lunch on the way.
Hello everybody, I will need to get from Athens to Split with minimum stops possible. I checked direct flights, but there are not any and I should fly via Zagreb which is not too convenient and fast. Would greatly appreciate your advices on the routing. Actually, my end destination will be Bol - but the chance to get from Athens directly to Bol is even more microscopic:-( Thanks a lot in advance! La-vender
Hello...I will be visiting the above places in December. At the moment, I am planning on my travel budget. There are too many attractions to visit, and some are quite pricey (in my money). Apart from the free attractions, what are the paid must sees that you think I should not miss? Any idea on the entrance fees @ websites are very much appreciated. My interest is war museums, or anything related to war sites etc, art galleries (not modern art though, I prefer the older ones), castles / palaces, architecture, gardens / parks, mountain, snow.... Thanks.

We will be arriving in Split by cruise ship. We will have a day for visiting and exploring. I need to pick up an original World Soccor Croatia shirt for my son. The games will just be starting. Does anyone know where a good place in Split to look?
Our cruise is docking at Trogir and offering a very expensive tour to Split. I have read that the #37 bus goes there, but wonder if we could hire a taxi to take us...and bring us back. If so, any idea of how much it would cost?
Hey all, I need to stay for one night before I head off on a boat cruise of Croatia. I dont get to split until 1am and leave the next morning, so I want somewhere close to port, cheap but safe! Suggestions would be most helpful. Thanks, Anwen!!
While the train website has some English translation, I'm not able to get pricing in English. Would someone be so kind to tell me what sleeping on the Split to Zagreb #824 would cost for a retired couple? Also the day train #524? The date would be 16 May. Thank you.
Arriving at 9am and have to be back on the ship at 6pm...so we have limited time. Where is a good place for lunch? What can I see in this short period of time? What's local and what is worth reaching via other transportation? Beaches that we should visit?
Hello, I will be flying into Split from Berlin in May, where I plan to spend a few nights on Hvar. My flight arrives on at Thursday a bit after noon. What's the best way to get from the airport to the ferry landing? Is there a bus, or is taxi my best option? According to Lonely Planet a bus meets all Croatian Airline flights, but I'm flying in on Germanwings. In addition, I assume I can just get my ferry tickets on the same day. (I only need the passenger ferry, not the car ferry)
Good evening everybody, I've never been to Croatia before, but am thinking of going in May for a week. I'd like to stay in Split being as it's coastal and looks a gorgeous place. How easy is it to take day trips to Dubrovnik, Mostar and Sarajevo? Ideally by train as I don't really want to spend hours on a cramped old bus! I see there are a couple of trains daily from Ploce - is this still the case to get to Mostar and Sarajevo? If so, how simple is the trip from Split to Ploce? Can anyone recommend a good hotel in Split? I'd like a 3* hotel, or 2* if it's very clean and comfortable. Ideally fairly central. Is there much in the way of nightlife and entertainment around Split? Thanks for any help, I will reply again as I make more decisions! Thanks, Adrian

Hi VT friends, I'll go to Croatia in february, and I'd like to know if there is any difficulty going from Split to Dubrovnik by car and cross Bosnia territory near Neum city. Is there any customs or passaport control? Many thanks in advance and best regards. Bruno
Dober dan My friend and I are visiting Split, arriving by train in the morning of Wednesday the 28th October, and hopefully have at least two days or maybe three days leaving by ferry or train on either Thursday or Friday (29th or 30th). Both of us enjoy train travel, good (local) food and beer, and maybe meet up with local people for a walking tour. We are staying in a hostel. What would you recommend for a good day out by train please. Puna hvala

Hi all, I wanted to ask some advice on how to get to Split from Zagreb. Would it be cheaper and faster with the train? Are there trips every hour? If I were to arrive in Split, is it near the City Center? What are the best areas in the city center can one stay where it is charming, quiet and scenic? If you have any recommendations to websites to pensions/hostels or B&B's which is less than 50 Euros per night, that would be great! Thank you for the help!
It would appear that Jadrolinja stops their catamaran service between Split and Hvar on 30 September. Since I have been unable to get hold of Jarolinja by phone, I was wondering if anyone knew of any other way of travelling between Split and Hvar in mid-October. Many thanks Sue
I'm trying to find info on Split Mad Night. Supposedly it's a night of live music on the Riva in mid-September. Does anyone know the exact date of this event? Has anyone been in past years? (assuming it's an annual event). Thanks! -J
