Will I pay less for air tickets on-line in USA, that is, "onetravel.com" or waiting and going to travel agents in Asia; say Singapore, Saigon, Kuala Lumpur and/or Jakarta

Hi. I'll be in Jakarta on 10-12 May. This trip is mainly for the Aerosmith concert on the evening of 11th. So apart from that, I really have no idea what I should see or do in Jakarta.

My questions:
- I'll stay at the Novotel Mangga Dua Hotel. I heard they're next to a shopping mall there, right? What kind of things would you buy from Jakarta?
- From Novotel to the Jakarta International Expo, I'm certain that I'll have to get there by taxi. But can anyone guess how long it's gonna take? So I can plan my schedule wisely.
- Any other ideas will be much welcome. I will spend some time by the pool in the hotel. But that shouldn't be all for a city and country I never visit before. So please give me some ideas.

I will be getting married at the middle of December 2014 and I have already set a plan to travel to Maldives & Seychelles with my spouse for the honeymoon at the end of December 2014 for approximately 6 (six) days. I do fully understand that it is still far away to reach that date. However, I prefer to prepare that upcoming journey as early as possible in order to get the trip goes well as per the planning without any trouble. Thus, on this occasion I have some questions in regard of that travel plan:

1. I will do take-off from Jakarta. So, what is the finest itinerary for that upcoming trip (A: Jakarta-Seychelles-Maldives-Jakarta or B: Jakarta-Maldives-Seychelles-Jakarta) as we have to compromise with the availability of the flight schedule?.
2. Is there the direct flight from and to Jakarta for 2 (two) itinerary options as above (A & B)?. If unavailable (if transit is needed), what is the plane with its shortest flight hours for those options as above?.
3. What is the best Live Cooking Restaurant in Maldives and or Seychelles which serves the Mediterranean menus?.
4. What is the special and or necessary thing that I need to prepare for those destinations (Maldives & Seychelles) as I travel on that period (December)?.

Wishing I can get the answer from this forum and I really appreciate for the response.

There will be 4 of us, please help us to plan . We have 5 nights there and we heard that Jakarta there nothing much , so we plan to stay there for 2 nights and Bandung for 3 nights . We will be fling into jakarta and flying our from bandung . So plan to go some shopping, eat nice restaurant, and clubs . The thing is we do not know where to stay as I heard Jakarta traffic is really bad and it actually make me dont know how to plan my trip. As been told if I go somewhere in the morning I better stay there and not to back to hotel until night . So please suggest -

1- Where to stay good location nearby shopping ( bugdet about USD 80 )

2- Any good restaurant around , any food that is a must try 3-Any nice clubs, its better I go back hotel for a rest /shower and out again for the club. I dont want to smell badly for being out a day . So would it better to be near where I stay so to stay away from the wasting time on the traffic 4-Places to visit at Jakarta , I only have 2 nights there

For bandung I was thinking to get a train to go to bandung , so where is the train station, can I buy my ticket on that day ? How much and how many hours ? Also please help me on bandung too 1- Place to stay , nearby hot spot 2- places to shopping , must go outlet I heard they have alot , but where 3- Places to visit , I heard theres this Volcano ( do I need to hire a taxi or a tour agent ? ) 4- Places to eat , and food must try

Dear Jakarta VT, Can i enter Jakarta on 30 January with a new biometric passport after my previous passport was damaged by an Immigration officer in Batam, Indonesia in December? That officer told me not to enter Indonesia anymore and instructed me to change my damaged passport. Please advise me the Immigration rules about re-entering Jakarta. With my new biometric passport, should i declare on the Immigration form I am first-time visitor with this new passport? Chyan

Somehow I grew into this habit as well :) Can someone recommend a hotel downtown which is within walking distance of a couple of hypermarkets and is still convenient enough to check out the rest of the city? Hi All, I come to Indonesia with my 3 kids (9yo 6yo and 1yo). Maybe I am different tourist because I skip Bali, Yogya and other places where many tourists come. I know, that Jakarta was in the past flooded, Indonesia is invaded by volcanoes or tornadoes. In my country we do not have such problems. Therefore I want my kids to understand that there are other people in the world who have many problems. I want them to meet real world. I want to show to my children how people live in Jakarta. Can you advise where in Jakarta can we go, we would like also to volunteer to some poor people. Where in Jakarta we can do it? And how?

I'm planning to go to Jakarta from Bekasi. I know there's a train line from Bekasi (Red line) that goes to Jakarta. I need to get off at Sudirman Station. My question is- do I have to buy another ticket to transfer to the Yellow Line at Manggarai Station or I'll need just one ticket from Bekasi to Sudirman? Thank you.

My plan is to go for a 'IndoTrip' starting from Jakarta >> Bandung >> Yokyakarta >> Surabaya(maybe) 1) What do u guys think of my plan? Should I visit Surabaya? Hi, My family and i will be reaching Jakarta by plane est 8pm on 3rd Dec. i have yet book any hotel.Pls assist me on hotels with a walking by shopping centra with a rate of est US 50 per nite. Is there any nearby mall with fastfood or restaurant that will stil be open at late night after we had check in to our hotel? My 2nd day plan, to purely shop. Plan to go Tanah aBANG and then proced to the nearestr mid price mall with good price esp for their department store. Pls recommend me the must go shopping centre near tanah abang. Or is Mangga dua closer to most mall?My plan is to just shop where location wise are nearby for my 2nd day. 3rd day, to plan to get a rental car to travel to Bandung.Any recommend tour/driver that can bring us there, and bring us back to our Jakarta hotel? Ok, I need to know why there is a plane broken in half and in complete wreckage right when you are taxiing off the runway at the Jakarta airport. I just landed here this afternoon and was shocked to see that sight. Is it just there for "show" because I think that is a terrible idea and a great way to terrify passengers. I'm a flight attendant myself and am so curious about this. I googled it and couldn't find anything. I believe the aircraft said Arabia or something similar on the fuselage but I'm not sure.
