Planning a Europe trip during Nov Thanksgiving break (around 9-10 days around last week of nov). Few options:
- spend time in main cities of Spain (Madrid, Barcelona) and Italy (Rome, Venice, Florence) or
- focus mainly on Spain (Madrid, Barcelona, Seville,Valencia) and Portugal (Lisbon).
We fly directly to Madrid and will have kids and parents along with us. Need to weigh in bunch of factors - weather, travel time/cost - take a flight or overnight train, etc. Any suggestions/recommendations on which option we should choose?
I recall a Middle Ages village - now a crafts town - outside Barcelona. Great shopping. Anybody know the name?

Hi you guys, I am travelling to Andalucia, between Malaga and Nerja. Does anybody have insider tips where to go, restaurants, pubs and so on? I have been in that area before but now I bring along more time. Any must-sees, must-tastes... Also I would love to hear about music locations - are there any concert places?
Thanks for you help,
We only have 45 mins between our flight landing and the bus leaving to Salamanca. Is this feasible? If we miss the bus what are our alternatives for getting to Salamanca that same day? Can we get on the next bus even if we haven't booked tickets for it? Or are there other alternatives? Basically we need a plan B if we can't make the bus. Many thanks for any advice.
Hello. Travelling from Spain to Portugal (Seville to Lisbon) and looking for the best way to get there.
Ideally by train, but a combination of bus and train is fine. Any suggestions would be very welcome. Thanks in advance.
hoping to visit both sites on a monday in early october when museums are closed, with a stop at hospital de san pau between or after seeing both. assuming i can get into the church with a 0930 time frame, how much time should i allow before the timed admission to the park visiting the hospital either between or after both.
i assume there are audio guides available or should we acquire a private guide ( no tours ). we tend to visit sites in considerable detail, not just in and out - would appreciate a rough estimate of how long each requires to be appreciated properly.
between the two, a taxi. are taxis available at the hospital or will we have to walk back to the church.
I have 10 hours brake there, is there area to sit and rest?
Can anyone help me identify the following buildings in Madrid please? I've been scouring Google Earth for hours in vain. They were all taken on the City Tour Route 1, within a few minutes of each other, I think not far from the Metropolis building, Gran Via.

does anyone know about this hotel, I have seen some bad reports about it , it seems they are often overbooked and send people to other hotels till they can find somewhere to put them, also people who have booked this hotel have found themselves placed in accommodation some distance away of a lower rating and been told it's all part of the same place even though this accommodation cost less than the main building which they paid for.
any information on this would be most welcome.
thank you Eric.

I plan to tour around Andalucia on the trains
I thought about ordering the trains from RENFE but it looks very complicated so I though about buying tickets on the day
Lisbon to Seville using coach
Sevilla to Cordoba - train
Cordoba to Granada - train
then fly home
Is it OK to do this? Will there be room on the trains? Is it safe to turn up and get a ticket?
My husband, and I, are going to Mijas, or Fuengirola, next year. Can anyone recommend Restaurants that serve Local Food.
Would it be cheaper if I buy the train ticket online from renfe.com instead of buying it at the station.
How do we know the exact time when to hop off for each location we want to visit? Is there any bus route map provided with the attractions listed as well? I have only one day to spend in Seville, and I would like to visit Maria Luisa Park(and plaza within it such as Plaza de Espana and Plaza de Americana) , the Gold Tower, Seville Cathedral, Metroposal Parasol , Giralda and Alcázar de Sevilla. The thing is I don't even know how to go from one place to another...
