I wanna do a road trip from Barcelona to San Sebastian around mid-September. I'll be with my wife. We would like to make two overnight stops on the way. We want to take the most scenic route. What route should we follow and where should we spend the two nights? We prefer to stop at small towns or villages. Also, is driving in Spain safe? Not just for road safety, but also for crime or burglary on the roads? Please advice. Thanks.
Bookmark, as to driving in Spain, it is safe, even on the mountain roads in the Pyrenees, but you must take care. I have never had a problem with crime or burglary on the roads, but you can not leave stuff seen from outside the car.

I fully agree with Roadquill opinions . If you want to visit the "Pirineos" , that is very good option you must leave the motorways End of September should be a good time for the visit You do not have much time so you must take your decisions You may visit Andorra , National Park of Ordesa or the area near Panticosa and you may also cross to the French area and from there to go to SS San Sebastián is a nice city with very good restaurants and also with very good "tapas" in the old town I am including copy of a web of a moto group that are doing your route in two days ( clubcbf.es/foro/viewtopic.ph... ) Buen viaje !!!!
