My wife and I are taking a trip to Spain at the end of May. We fly into Barcelona where we will spend 3 nights. Our plans are to apend some time in Seville and Madrid. We have 4 days to get from Barcelona to Seville. We are looking for suggestions on places to visit during these 4 days. Cordoba is one of the towns we would like to see. We had originally contemplated renting a car and driving to Seville from Barcelona but we are thinking it is a lot less stressful to take a bus or train. Any suggestions are appreciated. Thank you. The fastest way to get to Seville from Barcelona is by train (AVE) from BCN to Mad and from Mad to Seville, it is also the most expensive. There is another night train (all-night trip) to Seville from Barcelona which is cheaper. Here you can see all the information. renfe.es/horarios/english/in... There is so mucho to see in Seville, also you can go from Seville to Cordoba by bus.

The two previous answers gave good advice. My favourite is Granada. If you can afford it the AVE or TALGO (another high speed train from Barcelona to Granada, Sevilla...) are the best ways to travel as the bus journey is very long and arduous (I have done it). Forget sleep and comfort. Hiring a car is the other option but of course takes more time, although you would have the comfort of stopping to see interesting places along the way. If you leave the car in a different place than you pick it up it also costs a little more. AVE and TALGO are very comfortable and if you travel overnight you can even sleep in small cabins. You can walk around the train stopping for a drink in the cafeteria carriage and look out the large windows at the scenery. They also show films to pass the time like on a plane. If you book online or in advance your ticket will be cheaper. You can put the website that the previous answer gave you in English. It really is a lot faster and I think the best way of travelling. You could also look into domestic flights through low cost airlines such as Vueling.es. Iberia is the national airline followed by Spanair but these are often expensive.

BY the way driving a car in Spain is great. You should also see Granada. See my pages as we traveled in Spain last summer by car and posted lots of current informations.

Actually if you'd like info on Granada maybe you'd like to check out my pages as I have the number one page in Virtual tourist: members.virtualtourist.com/m... As I understand it you were looking to into an alternative to driving as it could be stressful. This is true especially driving into cities. For example Granada, Sevilla and Madrid are quite difficult to orientate yourself in when you arrive. I'm sure you are used to driving long distances from Canada. I agree with others in the idea of missing out Madrid. Barcelona, Granada and Sevilla would be plenty. Then if you had extra time you could think of Madrid or Cordoba. Actually once you are away from Barcelona by AVE or TAGLGO then the buses are an option if you are looking to cut costs. There is a bus between Granada and Madrid which is about 3 hours and cheap enough. Also the bus back and forth from Sevilla to Madrid which is economical and takes about 4 or 5 hours. And the Bus between Sevilla and Granada about 4 hours for 25 euros or less. You can also get the AVE to Corboba from Sevilla which will take you no time at all. Or of course travel by AVE or TALGO to/from Madrid from Sevilla or Barcelona. I have a fairly extensive Spain page if you are looking into more options too: "Viva España" - Spain by blint I really hope what I have said makes sense and helps you. I live in Spain very close to Sevilla and lived in Granada and Barcelona too. I have visited Cordoba and Madrid and many other places.

You could take the AVE from Barcelona to Madrid, and spend 1 or 2 day there (including maybe 1/2 day in Toledo, just 30 minutes away from Madrid by AVE). Then another AVE to Sevilla.
