We are planning to spend a day in Pitigliano. Are there other interesting towns nearby that we can reach by public transport? Would you spend the night in Pitigliano or Grosseta?
We will be in Siena for Easter of 2014. We would like to go to church on Easter Sunday and we would like to see any local pageants or festivities. Any advice? Also, we have heard about a cheese-rolling in Tuscany on Easter Monday (little Easter). Does anyone know where it is and how far it is from Siena?
Hi, I booked an Uffizi museum ticket online from the supposedly official website http://www.polomuseale.firenze.it/en/. I see that the booking states Galleria degli Uffizi Intero/Ful;:( Block 16:15 | Row 2 | Seat 4221 ). It cost me EUR 15. I found it odd that the admission ticket has a row number and seat number. I tied to call them but it seems the offices are closed now. Has anyone booked the tickets on line in advance and has seen a row/seat number in the booking confirmation ? Thanks
Hello! In June I'm going to travel to Italy, Follonica, with my dog. So I wonder, is there any dog friendly beaches in this city? I have read that there is dog friendly beach Follonica/Scarlino, but anyone else? If there is no prohibition sign that dogs not allowed, can I go to this beach with my dog?
Thanks in advance!
I am trying to find out if there is a direct bus from Lucca to Florence? If so, how much and what are the times?
The website www.vaibus.it is only available in Italian.
Many thanks for any help you can provide.
All the best
I will be in Florence for one day this week and would like to ask for your suggestions on restaurants for a nice lunch in the center of the city. I would love something charming and authentic (the exact opposite of a touristic one). Any suggestions on local cuisines and wines are very welcome!
Many thanks for your help :-)
My wife and I will be in Tuscany for 2 weeks in early May. We will be flying into Milan and driving south. Our plan is to fly out of Rome.
Being May we are not expecting any problems with accommodation and are planning simply to move around as the mood takes us and to find accommodation as we go.
Can anyone tell me how easy this is and the best way of doing it - do we research on line places as we go or are there tourist info centers through which we can book in small towns, etc?
We are looking to stay at B & B type places that are nice but not horribly expensive.
Any suggesting in relation to this plan and any good accommodation suggestions would be appreciated
