Mayflower Cruise Terminal

by AnnemarieC Online Now Jun 14, 2006 at 3:48 AM

Hi, does anybody know how to get from Southampton Central train station to the Mayflower Cruise Terminal? Is it walkable? Is there a bus courtesy bus service? There is also a train station called 'Southampton Town Quay'. Would that be a better option? Thanks for your help.

    Directions on these web sites:

    abports.co.uk/custinfo/ports...

Passenger trains only go to Southampton Central Station, which is more than a mile - about a 20-minute walk - from Mayflower Cruise Terminal. If you have any heavy suitcases, you can take a taxi. There is a free CityLink (green colour) bus every 10-15 minutes from the station to Town Quay. You enter through Dock Gate 10.

Yes it is walkable, 20-30 mins but with baggage?

I would take a taxi from outside the rail station on the platform 4 side.

I do see shuttle busses that go in and out of dock gate 10 so I would ask the P&O or who ever you will be travelling with.

From Southampton Central to the Mayflower terminal is 1.6 miles, quite a walk or a 10 min drive by taxi

A taxi is the easiest option. There are no regular scheduled buses that enter the secure dock areas. Many tour operators and cruise lines have courtesy transport but you will have to ask whoever you booked the cruise with for precise information.
