hi guys, myself and 2 other friends will be travelling to south tahoe to board for about 6 days before driving to mammoth for some more. just want to get any ideas on where to stay. i have been told that somewhere around heavenly would be the best but obviously dont want to get a huge appartment with only 3 of us. we will have a car so will be mobile but will need a carpark. hope someone can help! cheers
All depends on what you want to find and do. I personnally perfer North Shore as it is not as much of a tourist trap but still allows close access to South Shore for the major casinos.

If you are going boarding for 6 days, what resorts will you be going to? That will be your deciding factor. If you stay on North Shore (Incline Village, Kings Beach, Tahoe City, Truckee), you have lots of resorts near there to choose from and Incline is only ~40min from Heavenly. However if you stay in South Shore, you also can choose additional resorts like Sierra and Kirkwood. Hi, Without knowing your budget I'd suggest the Embassy Suites Lake Tahoe. It's steps from the Heavenly lifts and is in the heart of the casino/nightlife area. I think it would work for you because you get a spacious two room suite--you could ask for two queen beds, plus there is always a couch that makes into a bed. They have a wonderful FREE buffet breakfast each morning--not continental but eggs, cereals, pancakes, sweet rolls, fruit, yogurt....it's such a great deal. They also have special ski packages. They have their own parking. Their rates are usually excellent, so check it out! Have fun!
